  • In case it helps anyone in future... I think the encryption is down to secure boot mode in the BIOS of this XPS. I've turned that off for now and had no further notifications. So there you go.
    Friendly greeting!

I'm currently having the same problem as you did. Would you mind giving more specifications on how did you solve the problem? I would like to keep my Rapid Start as well since my lappy would need a significant longer time to start up without it.
  • Hi, you can switch out of secure boot mode in bios settings.
This stops the notification but boot time does get a bit longer.
I switched it back on and now just hit cancel on the pop ups about Intel rapid start.

If you want to disable secure boot, do this:
Tap F2 on startup to enter bios setup
right arrow 3 times to get boot options screen
down arrow to select Secure boot, hit return
    choose Disabled, hit return
go to exit menu, choose Exit saving changes

As I say, will remove the IRST notifications but will boot slightly slower and you'll see the blue windows logo as it boots up now.

Well, hope this helps you decide what to do!

Thank you so much. It helps me a lot. Have a nice day! :T :T
