Hi Helena (Eon) yes I think they're on the best deal for them. My brother sorted out their bills to be read and inputted online. They're both 85 years old and tend to have their heating on constant. But there's lots of things I've tried to get them to do....but you know what old uns are like:o
They'd taken advantage of cavity wall and loft insulation and they've even been given a new boiler....but they still go around in shirt sleeves:oGC - Oct £36.17/£31
GC - Sep £35.56/£30:o
GC - Aug £30.73/£31
GC - Jul £30.80/£310 -

We are retired and live in a modern 3 bedroomed detached bungalow and are home 24/7. We have double glazing, cavity wall insulation and we have also topped up our loft insulation.
Our electricity is with EDF (fixed tariff) and we pay £35 monthly DD and we are usually slightly in credit.
However, there is no gas in our village and so we are reliant on oil central heating, which is expensive. We have just had our oil tank filled up at a cost of £346.50 for 600 litres:eek: We shall then probably need another 900 litres next March. All this has to be paid for 'up-front' and so we usually have about £850's worth of oil stored in our tank at any one time:(
We would love to have town gas central heating, which to us is really cheap and you only pay for what you use monthly.
However, rural living does have its compensations;)0 -

Is £157 a month such a shock then?!0 -

Last year worked out to £115 per month average from the years usage.
We paid £105 per month. I cleared the balance and this year we are predicting an average of £125 PCM. That's for gas/elec combined. Most of it is gas. Elec is between 15 and 22 per month, then the 6 quid standing charge on top. Rest is gas.
