OS Daily Monday 18th November 2013

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Something with pork for dinner but not sure what yet.

Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep well, warm and safe and have a super day :)

  • Good Morning,

I hope everyone had a great weekend :)

MIL arrived yesterday for the week, she did the ironing last night, which was just lovely and so appreciated :)

Today Daisy has her day 3 midwife check, and my parents are coming for their first visit. I have to get the washing done today, and if I get the chance I need to rinse all the baby girl clothes which belonged to DD1. In there was a red pair of Daisy Duck PJs which say 'Baby Daisy' on it! How cute :)

Dinner tonight I hope will be Chicken Korma Curry (I defrosted chicken on thursday night for DH birthday meal so cross fingers it's not turned)

Hope everyone has a great day x

    Morning all,

Cold here this morning got the heater on in the lounge to take the edge off, really must get the timer for the central heating sorted.

Back to work today and typically I feel slightly on the mend so first cold of the season is on the way out.

Something with sausages tonight either sausage in a bun or mash and veg, will see what I feel like later on.

Will need to do a wash tonight too.

Have good days all and keep warm xx

    Morning everyone

Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x

Dull, misty and dreich, and looks chilly here this morning.

DH up and getting ready to go to work.

Dinner yesterday was made up of the food that I took for DH and myself to eat whilst we were away and didn't as a meal was provided that we hadn't expected - so all good. Had an excellent weekend, met up with friends we hadn't seen for a while, and DH ran the meeting well, rather him than me, when you have to speak in front of 80-100 people! The parts of the weekend we organised all went well were appreciated by those that attended. Have loads of washing as the field was muddy so every pair of trousers we've worn need washing - WM on as we speak.

Dinner tonight will be an easy smoked sausage pasta with creme fraiche sauce.

Back to work today - feel absolutely shattered and could really do without it. I really wanted to have this week as leave not last week - but couldn't have this week as someone else wanted this week too. As it's a Monday no doubt it will be a manic Monday - at least it'll make the day pass quicker.

Tonight will just organise the last receipt and a covering letter to claim back the last of the expenses from the Treasurer - don't want to wait too long as it will stop him finalising the accounts.

    Keep safe and well x

  • Morning all,

JackieO - Hope your tooth space is sorted soon.

JulieG - She is beautiful :)

No walking for me this morning as my friend has her two grandsons to look after, so I am going to pop round for coffee and a cuddle instead.

I need to organise myself for DH's big birthday next week. I think I am going to make him a cake but have no idea what to get him present wise. Of course, everyone else asks for ideas too don't they and it's no good when you can't even think of one!

    Have a good day everyone.

    Good morning everyone :j

It's quite a nice, bright morning at the moment here though they give rain later on. I shall be whizzing around the house this morning for a quick tidy and then my friend is picking me up and taking me to the new B & M store opened in Barnstaple. I am quite unreasonably excited by this :D:D. I love shopping and I love bargains so this could be a great morning out for me :rotfl:.

Hubby and 2 older girls are decluttered off to work/school and youngest DD is grumping around the kitchen making a packed lunch. She's normally full of the joys but has a face on today. I think she's angling for a day off but tough luck!

Well, I'm going to jump in the shower and get going. I hope everyone enjoys their day today even though it is a Monday! Take care and as always gentle hugs for all who would like one.
    Cheers m'dears x

    Good morning everybody,

Dull and wet here.Yesterday it was very foggy for much of the day,we took the pooch out early through some woods-I think she was a bit spooked at first as it was so still and quiet but we enjoyed it.We had to rush home and get cleaned up for a Christening, friends grandchild. It was in a lovely old church in a village, and they had a buffet afterwards in the cricket club, made by baby's Grandma. She used to be in catering years ago and always puts a fantastic spread on.It was nice to see some old friends.

Quite a busy weekend really, with the toddler party on Saturday and taking DGD to her 'swimming ' class,so I need to catch up on tidying and washing today.Tea will be either sausages or mince as thats whats in the fridge.

JG ,lovely pic of Daisy .
I hope to be saying hello to my expected Grandson soon,Dil2b is getting very fed up now.Her email was hacked on Saturday and it was the last thing she needs right now, having to make loads of phone calls to make sure stuff is secure, grrrr.

Anyway-hope you all have a good day x

    Morning all,

RA is flaring at the moment so right knee and some fingers are acting like they are somebody else's. Bother.

Huge problems getting out of bath last night but I had the bathchair power pack charging; if I really got stuck DH said he'd squash me up one end and install it quickly so I could get out. Fortunately it was OK in the end. We only have a short bath so the chair was great to get in/out on but I could never actually lie back and soak which defeated the purpose. I'd do so many things differently in the bathroom if we were refitting it now - but 10 years ago nobody could have foreseen the state we're both in now :D.

Dinner will be the other half of the beef casserole, and a bit of apple struedel for a pudding - DH's request of course :o

    JulieG - lovely picture

Have a great day all x
