I guess it has to be VANITY for me... I'm terrified of putting on weight and I can't possibly look fatter and be unfitter than my OH. I feel pleased afterwards, but really more for the fact that I made myself go rather than any endorphins. Bonus is of course getting to use their showers/saving water and the good feeling on being able to fit into a nice dress comes in handy at times.
  • Because I enjoy it.

Ultimately it boils down to keeping yourself attractive to the opposite sex. That's why ultimately people go to gym.

And to live up to society's/media's picture of a normal looking human being.

    how heteronormative of you.

only go So I can eat more and it helps keeps my weight down. I don't really enjoy the gym, I don't want to run any further, row any longer or get any better just maintain. I prefer team games but don't think I get as much exercise as I do when going to the gym. I go for a few months and then do something different, put weight back on, then go back to the gym.

What you mean is, that's why you go.

I do boot camp, mainly to build strength in order to manage new moves at pole fitness, if I didn't gain the extra strength esp core, there's no way I'd be able to hold myself horizontally from a vertical pole.

I also go because I've found I'm quite good at it and have a slightly competitive side so pushing myself gives me a sense of achievement (afterwards at least).

I've met new people sonically and I guess it boils down to the fact I enjoy it (although don't ask me that one at 6.30am when it's raining and freezing cold :rotfl:)

Bootcamp is one of my favourite forms of exercise. So much fun, camaraderie and healthy competitiveness. I prefer mornings with a heavy frost as you don't get covered in as much mud. Had plenty of that recently with all the rain! Bring on the snow!! :D :snow_laug :snow_grin

That's true about the mud. It's quite funny when you can actually see steam coming off of people in the mornings. Did it in the snow last year, it was quite nice when it was all fresh and it wasn't that cold, not so much in the sludgy cold mud that soon followed :rotfl: I only singed up for a 6 week course.....that will be two years ago this April :D
