What feedback? Not a joke - honest!

I bought some Bob the Builder toys on ebay and they arrived this morning, they were a bit manky and dusty and dirty so i washed them in milton sterilising solution. I would have done this anyway but kind of expected that they would have at least had dirt and dust wiped off them before being sent out... Some of the paint was chipped and there were some quite battered bits on some of the toys... My son loves them and has played with them non-stop since I gave them to him but I feel a bit narked that it wasn't mentioned that the quality wasn't great.... I think the price i paid for them was 'okay' considering the condition but think I would rather have paid more and bought decent ones....??

Anyways, I'm not sure if I have just had too high expectations or whether i just gotta roll with this and accept i've cleaned em up and my son is pleased...

Seller has left me + feedback so not sure if I should email and mention something or leave anything in feedback or whatever??

Any ideas or should i just shut up whingeing?? ;)

Rachie

p.s This is what the auction said:
Condition: Used

This is my sons collection of Bob the Builder characters, which he wishes to sell and buy some warhammer?.....dont ask me, i'm just his Dad. They include......and dont quote me on the correct names, Bob, Wendy, Scarecrow, Bird, cat, Scoop, rollie, muck, dizzy and Lofty.

Looks like a case of differing standards. I agree on the cleaning thing, as I wouldn't sell any kids stuff that could not arrive, be unpacked and handed to a child.

I,ve seen the same debate in relation to Gameboys, PS Ones, PS Two's etc.... Cases where folk don't realise just how much crap gets in the nooks and crannies, and who have shipped out to a disgusted buyer. All it takes is an old dry toothbrush and a smear of fairy liquid, and voila. :)

OK..... I think I got into the weeds..... :p

IMHO..... It's a positive along the lines of.....

thanks burbs, I think I will + him but was wondering whether to mention something in the feedback but people who leave + feedback with a - message bug me so think that was why i was undecided what to do... the other thing that narked me was that he emailed me and told me he was posting them 'tomorrow' on the 20th April yet they weren't posted til 25th April (yesterday) and i did not hear from him in the meantime....

My son with pleased with them when the mud on them - lol! and wouldn't have cared if I'd have paid £50 for them let alone £18! ;) mind you, he's only 15 months old so gets excited by a crisp packet :D

Erm - were you peeking through the window, you should have seen his face when I unwrapped the parcel from the postman, practically his only words he can speak are "yes we can!" (hiya, mummy and BOB being the only other ones) and he was shouting it and getting excited... the first thing he did was shove one of the characters in his mouth so he still had two hands free and could run off with three toys... It was then I noticed the mud and dust etc and had to take them off him and have him sit on the floor sobbing while i gave his toys a bath :( he cheered up as I gave them back to him one by one but it wasn't really nice for the lil poppet!

Well, as many sellers always moan about bidders not contacting with if there's a problem before leaving feedback, I would drop them an email. Having said that, when I've had problems with items I received mixed responses.
Some get really defensive, some are professional and do what they can to sort the problem.

At least if you do get in touch before leaving feedback you have covered yourself.

So it didnt say they were clean then, or unchipped, or anything about the condition?

The only person at fault is you for not asking.
