Just about to apply for a new CapitalOne cashback card. If you apply via UKRewards (www.ukrewards.co.uk) you can 'potentially' get £7.50 back.
UKRewards encourages referrals - there is a list of people offering their links (just added mine to the bottom) in referrers area of the Forum.0 -

Alex, this sounds too good to be true! I could well be wrong, but I thought credit card companies now treated purchase of gift vouchers as a cash advance? Have you bought any vouchers using the MBNA lifestyle website? Did any charges apply (cash advance fee or immediate interest)?

If you do, then the Nectar credit card is offering 5000 points with a new card at the moment. That adds up to £25 if you spend it in Saisbury's or Argos, or more if you spend it on their "offers". Get both cards and you'd get a total of £75. Worth it yet?0 -
Of course the old Tescos credit cards pay 0.5% unlimited which can then be converted into deals worth 4 times face value (ie 2%). Newer cards only get 0.25%. Unfortunately most of the worthwhile things that you could buy with deals have been taken off (eg Cresta holidays/P&O ferries/XL airways/Mark Warner hols etc), tho Cosmos and Eurotunnel still remain. Me now thinks you'd be better off with a true cashback card giving 2% or more and using the money to buy your hols, ferries and flights: that way you don't have to pay the full brochure either like you do with deals.0

Does anyone know if there is a limit to amount of cashback that can be earned on capital 1 card during 4% promo period?0

I got a letter today turning me down for the Capital One 4% card and I have no idea why. I have a mastercard with HSBC, have never been over the limit, use it regularly and pay it off in full. The only other credit I've had in the last year is a loan that I paid off early. I once had a store card but never missed a payment (and that's been cut up for well over a year). Keen to know why I was turned down - and also worried, does the fact that I've applied for a card and been turned down upset my credit rating? (Further, I suppose, as it's obviously bad though I have no idea why.)0
