The obvious one for any kid of that age appears to have been missed off any suggestions, Skylander, which is something of a phenomenon0
-
Older games, but that means they'll be available cheaply:
Disney Universe
Spiderman Friend or Foe
For driving, Forza Horizon might be better than Forza 4, it's more open-world0 -
Skylanders without a doubt
start off with an older one like skylanders spyros adventure, cheaper
:A0 -
Word of warning with Skylanders though, they have collectible figures with them. My cousin bought Skylanders for her kid and she is forever being pestered for new figures and they're constantly bringing out more. The creators are marketing geniouses
I've heard the game is actually very good but it does seem a bit of a rip off that you can't access the entire game without the figures (which you have to purchase to access their quests).0 -
Don't forget Viva Pinata!
Good too see your 10 year old boy won't be playing the same games as most other 10 year olds (GTA, Call of Duty etc).Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017

Hi,
I think you are right with Minecraft and FIFA, my lad loves both of those games.
It's quite old now, but if you have a kinect and want a family game I would recommend Raving Rabbids. It's incredibly silly but great fun to play.:xmastree:What a splendid idea, this Christmas sounds fun. I fully endorse it, let's try it at once!:xmastree:0 -
Thats a point you can pick up kinect sensors so cheap these days and there is a few good games (as long as you have room of course).
Hole in the wall is funny after a few drinks.Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017

Hi!
I have a 10 year old with an xbox 360 and it's a challenge to determine what is and isn't acceptable. He does note with some irritation that his mates are allowed to play pretty much what they like (CoD and GTA being mentioned regularly; but I'm sticking with no.) You have this to look forward to...
Games which my ten year old likes include :-
Fifa (although online is a problem)
Minecraft
Pure
Burnout Paradise
Kung Fu Panda
Just about any Lego game - Indiana Jones and Star Wars caught the imagination here.
Sonic
Regrettably Banjo Kazooie was not popular (except for the car building bit) - I think it's a wonderful and different game so should be given a go if you find it cheap.
I also note Kinects are £10 second hand - there is some fun to be had with the games that come with it.
I hope that helps

And you're right to. I can't believe that some parents see a game and think that it can't be too bad because 'video games are for kids'.
Even I was uncomfortable with some of what was in GTA V and I'm 22
My cousin mentioned her 8 year old son had played a bit at a friends house and I had to seriously warn her against it and suggested she didn't let him do it again. There may be plenty of aspects of the game that are fine and suitable but if he'd accidentally stumbled across the *Spoiler Alert* torture mission he'd have been scarred for life!
EDIT: And I have to agree as well with the Lego games, they're brilliant and child and adult friendly0 -
Thank you for all your suggestions. Hope they have helped others as well. Having just confiscated kindle for 2 days (playing under covers at 9.30 at night!) I am wondering if I'm doing right thing!
