Nationwide FlexDirect overdraft

I'm considering opening this account to avail of the 0% overdraft for 12 months. Does anyone know what the usual overdraft limit is on this account? I have an £800 overdraft with Halifax that I plan to pay off over the next year.

£2,500. Subject to your credit report being good enough.

(or at least this is what most people are offered)

    I got £0.

My credit rating is fine, but my income wasn't very high at the time of applying.

That's good. Fingers crossed I'll get that when I apply next month (waiting on my mortgage to go through later this month, then I'll change.)

I have the NW direct and have an overdraft facility for £2200 free for 12 months.

I didn't ask for an overdraft when I opened a second account recently. If I asked for an OD now, would it still be free for 12 months?

I presume the overdraft is fee free for 12 months from the time the account was opened.

What does it say in the T&Cs?
  • I got this account recently, I got £1000.00 it is 0% interest for 1 year then after reverts to a 50p a day charge for each day in the overdraft. So I will revert back to the normal flex account after the 12 month period. Although I have used the account as they are giving 5% APR on savings in that account for 12 months on balances up to £2500.

T&Cs say only one introductory offer, but don't say whether the free OD is an introductory offer.

Some people have multiple accounts with free ODs stoozed away. There are no reports yet of them receiving "only one" letters.

Does anybody here have personal experience of requesting an OD several weeks after opening the account? And did they get a free OD?

    The T&Cs say (my highlighting):
    3) The daily usage fee-free overdraft period is for 12 months starting on the date you open a current account with us.

Can't be a lot clearer than that.
