Travel insurance/hotels -maiden name or married name?

the OP appears to disagree with you, as she has some updated ID in her newly-married name but has 'not got around to updating my passport' so clearly intends to at some point. There are downsides to having mixed surname identities, the OP is aware of them, and I gave a suggestion. That's all.
She can disagree all she likes, doesn't change the fact that a woman doesn't lose her maiden name just because she marries and is legally entitled to you either/or/both identities.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

I would suggest getting a new passport as soon as you come back, if you have legal identification in two names I believe you are breaking the law and could be fined up to a £1000!
This is why I have never changed my passport and driving license, despite being divorced and now using my maiden name again. I have bank cards and bills etc in my maiden name but not my passport or driving license as I haven't had the money spare to pay for the new passport.
That's a load of rubbish.
There is no point in paying to update the name on your passport until it runs out, waste of money.
You are allowed both names.0 -
I was in exactly the same situation a few years ago when I was too tight to change my passport as it had a number of years left on it.
All bookings were made in my maiden name to match my passport and my holiday insurance was in my maiden name - again as this was the name I was travelling in. I travelled with a copy of my marriage certficate in case of any queries, but I was never challenged.
I even had to claim on my insurance when I bust my shoulder skiing. I paid with my credit card in my married name. When claiming back I just explained the reason for the difference and it was settled without any problems with the cheque arriving in my married name as per my bank account.
I did eventually change my passport to my married name and they carried 9 months of the old one over so I only lost a short amount of time on it.0
