Hi

Just been out to dinner and was told there was parking at the back of the restaurant.

Parked up at 8.30pm - there were several other cars neatly parked and it was pitch black. Came out of the restaurant to a £100 pcn.

Anyway - I've had a google and they are registered with BPA, but under the heading of 'Debt Recovery' it says 'no'. Does this mean that if I ignore them, they can not force me to pay or pass on the debt to a debt collecting agency?

Any advice very welcome.

Many thanks

Nope it means nothing, those ticks are often not right anyway, just means usually that the PPC uses an external debt collection call centre...but that won't happen if you appeal when you get the NTK.

Your use of the word 'militant' tells me you may have only read an old MSE article which is actually sadly quite rubbish and out of date.

Read the 'newbies! Have you got a private parking ticket?' information 'sticky thread' near the top of the forum:

While you wait for the Notice to Keeper (next month sometime probably around Christmas, as explained in the thread) why not try a complaint to the Restaurant Manager? As explained in another sticky thread 'successful complaints about PPCs'. Saves the hassle of the appeal but you'd win with our help anyway.

When it comes to POPLA stage do not argue this about permit/no permit. See the advice on the info threads, there are ways to win at POPLA stage and it's not about permits.

P.S. As this is LPS don't say too much in this thread and you should delete who was driving from your post above. They read this forum (no joke).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
