  • Yes, Beanie sums it up well - if it's something that leaps out at you then that might be different, but otherwise, well, it's not viable to keep making £300 trips, is it!

and Mr RG too, did you see him? With his cape on?

    .....or perhaps outwith his cape....;)

I vote for *sensible* decision too. And although I would expect you to enjoy working for the 'third sector' - travel expenses paid yes or no needs to be a determining factor in future decisions to apply in the first place.

  • Hey chaps - thanks for all the good vibes much appreciated.

This previous job had small print (travel reimbursement can be discussed) so I've emailed them! Thanks for the push. gP and all you're right, travel such as that can't be sustained, but mr RG and I have sat and discussed a strategy. He needs a lachy at RG towers to paint tidy up and get place on market, I need a job so he will furnish me with lodgings and some housekeeping if I might focus my energy on the towers in the short term unless something fabulous comes up.

Sometimes it takes a rejection to focus the thoughts on action eh?

I'm still scuppered after this flu, so taking it easy and whilst we will walk today it will be sedate. Full week back to work next week so need energy for that.

Have a good un whatever you're upto. I must make a list later.

We spent this am property shopping online, found a couple nice (but stupidly expensive) houses complete with RG studios and ample garden. (both fans on FB if you're on there...) we'd have to find something more affordable but it's fun to window shop.

    Enjoy your days...

FA where are you heading to in Skye?

Thank you all for the sterling advice - if something amazing comes up I will def check out their reimbursement policy. No idea why I get quick interviews KC........but I can't sustain trips like that again.

Toasty roast dinner later (recycled) and dd is back after rehearsals later so until then we will enjoy a bit of us time.

    :-)

We've never been before but are keen to see Otters in their natural habitat and the ring of bright water centre is just down the way.

And, never a truer word said!

    Hey up loves

A whole day up (no naps) how exciting eh?:rotfl:

We've had a wee walk and I may even blog about that later - it was a gorgeous 'light' day. A bit of cleaning and a bit of banter with the RG

I've skyped with the manchild - and made flatbreads again :T
Done the banks - they are DIRE but I was reminded by the pups that I've not been paid since 16th Dec.

(I have had to borrow some 'just in case' money from RG (£50) as I'm too near my OD limits and whilst the money should whoosh in and the DD's out sort of to plan, I can't be certain)
    Invoice written, expenses to finish.

Fires on and I've slumped myself on the sofa.

    Seemed like a plan.

I'm needing to think up movements over the next couple months and a 'get sooth' plan too.

Last exam is on 16th May - free to vamoose anytime after that -if we timed it properly we might save some 'rent' money too but means finishing work a bit earlier so its swings and roondaboots......

    Lots to ponder.

Needless to say online house shopping isn't helping:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

  • Ok quick question

Do any of you whizzy types with kids who've left/leaving school and heading to university.

Does child benefit stop the 31st August after they leave school or after they start at UNI - I guess its about the same time anyway so that might have answered my question!!

    Ignore me, I'm still ill.
