  • Its got so bad, I've counted up the DD's due out this next week.

To be fair it needed done. But, don't do it, its just scary. However I do know with certainty now (and will a contingency plan) how much extra I might be able to put to the cards after they're out.

    Spreadsheets rock.

Ha - Brave would have been keeping my eye on the wages rather than going

'ohhhh wages, arent they pretty' (I'm quite new to earning, long term student soap dodger, almost made it to pension age :D)

And my biggest issue not focusing on the game plan to pay things off rather than stare at the pretty pennies in the bank.

If my calculations are correct (and they might not be) I might have paid off 20% of the debt by the end of the month, nae even the end of this week, given my limited time here - I need to be paying at least 15% a month off.

    Scary mcvities.

    (Other biscuits are available)

I am now full of porridge. Life to be tackled and all that.

  • 20% is worthy of a definite :T:T:T Stripes - well done you! Spreadsheets do indeed rock - so - sometimes - do lists, which is a good thing as I thrive on those too!

That year without supermarkets blog is ace - I really wish we lived somewhere where that was a practical option - we have however decided on one Supermarket free week per month - I know, sounds pathetic after Team Pugh's efforts doesn't it! The issue for us is that the decent farm shop is 30 mile round trip away - the supermarket is more like 6 mile round trip, so fuel use comes into the equation else we're manufacturing extra food miles all on our own!

Good work on energy changing too - beware of new suppliers wanting to put your DD up to scary levels when you go to them at heavy use times of year though - ours did that to us and I had to keep ringing them and saying "NO!" in stern tones! :rotfl:

Its inspiring that blog isnt it EH - I don't know if I'd cope. Would I really save? Its a tough one.

I'll remember to just say NO as well.

We'll see what comes of the 'second wage' when teaching money turns up. I say teaching, 90% of it is ADMIN.

Work miles into town, quick plod of mutts in daylight which is receding now.

There are santa's reindeer's in the local shop.

    So cute!

  • Fab to have the fruit pad back - now just mind what I said "Don't be watering it again, it didn't like it!"

The supermarkets thing - you'd struggle I should think -but you have a far more realistic option for at least slightly more ethical places to shop don't you. I have no issues with Supermarket shopping in the Hebrides too - but down south there at least the only "real" supermarkets are co-ops anyway. Where we are we're monopolised by the dreaded Messrs T, S & A. I have less of a problem with Mr M - but we don't have one locally. it annoys me that I don't have a greengrocers within walking distance, but I have THREE T*sc0 stores. (Yes, honestly, within a 2.5 mile walk of home!)

  • I do wonder if we'd struggle here - perhaps only from a cost perspective - you're right we have such a local strong shopping culture with only up until a few years ago a couple of supermarkets - now we have 3 and aside Mr T they're not huge. Shetland has an Aldi - always jealous of that. Ponders relative cost implications of only shopping locally........

I (puts up hand) swear to not water the fruitbat again.

    Honest injun.
