Oh - how sweet is that! - never thought any place could be tinier than ours! - The Cupboard has a lot of personality! - very huggable (if a house can actually be personified!;))

I'm contemplating the 3 files brought back home from work last night but not yet broken into them (10am looms - so definately soon!) Luckily bossman is off on work travels this week, so doesn't mind if I take my lurgified self home, and skip the commute in order to recoup!

Dug out the blulight lamp a couple of days ago & pumped up on vitamins - am guessing these should help the exhaustion?:rotfl:

Sorry to hear about all the lurgification :( thats not nice - but how sweet The Cupboard is! Its kind of a one bed flat size, except that the bedroom is *really* small - great location tho :)

And that apartment earlier! OMG - I thought I was going to be able to giggle at the price in another way entirely, but now I'm just horrified :rotfl::eek:

Altho I'm veggie, as you know Pippi, loving the "bones" convo :rotfl:I tell you what gives a strong flavour that you might like, tho - balsamic vinegar - I don't use much, but when I do, it packs a punch :D
2023: the year I get to buy a car
  • The Cupboard does indeed look fab - but I'm getting claustrophobic twinges just thinking about living in it! I couldn't begin to manage again with such a dinky kitchen either - ours is small but not THAT small! As for the flat - gorgeous views but :eek: at the price - that's London prices for goodness sake! (but NOT London views!)

Hope the greenness has faded still further by now and glad to hear that - by your standards - you're taking it easy too.

Lobbing my 2p worth in on stock I make it from bones etc when I have them but if I haven't them I work on the basis that going out of my way to find them, then the cooking of it too will work out pricier than using one of those "Stockpot" things - which are the best thing I've found for meat or fish based stocks. I only ever buy them when they're on offer too - never pay full price. I find most of the cubes just too salty for us these days.

OK so I did break the budget

Yoghurts - 20p for coconut four packs x2
    Minced pork - meatballs/etc - 1.20 for two 500g packs
    pineapple x 2 25p
    banana's x 2 packs 39p

oh and stock pots were on offer - 2 for £3 (16/under 20p each) whilst I also bought stock cubes for 20p/10 - like EH rightly says they're a bit salty for my taste too but work for a quick fix.

Leek, peedie tomato and smoked cheese risotto for tea - but seriously I need to work on my portion control. I've cooked for at least 8 - my family has never been this large. On the positive lots of meals for lunch/tea and freezer on the negative - I need to learn to portion control.

No stock sweated leeks/garlic/tomatoes and cooked down adding a goodly amount of feta (well value 'greek cheese') which gave it enough substance. :)

Its a fine balance with the stoves on and its hot and not just cooking too much for the sake of feeling less empty nest ish.

And, I spent today going over the white paper for independence for work and for life IYSWIM - reviewed the work chapter (8) read the whole doc then reviewed it again from a 'me' perspective.

Link here if anyone needs it.

And a quick BBC summary here if anyone needs that.

If its any help I also found another Mr Men book to read too - I like to balance my reading.

Excuse the politics if it offends. Many of us Scots are a tad confused as to 'how' to vote - whilst some have staunch pro view or against views I'm some of the many who just don't know HOW to vote.

Nowt wrong with that but I feel I need to make a really informed and measured choice myself as I really have no idea how I feel.

After a mountain of risotto is NOT eaten, I'll be back.

:wave:Hiya KC - lurgification seems to have worked it's way out of the system - seems a whole day of quiet scared it away!;)

Must make a note to buy Stockpots& keep them in the storecupboard for meat stock!
We use a vegan/vegetarian brand of powdered bouillion called Marigold - quite tasty as a stock when desperate but not quite the same as a bone stock.

...but a well spent broken budget...fruit & yogurt & meat are normally all pricey items!...as long as it all gets eaten, a well spent splurge!

    Debt-free and Proud!
Delurking to say that Marigold is by far the best stock IMO!!..it's lush. And so sought after that when I have been to NZ I am ordered to take huge quantities to my friends..they can't get it there and they miss it so!

Like the lunch of mushy peas by the way..;)
