Thank you for let me know about this.
    - Is there any documentation that I could refer that if I close it before anniversary date I could get my cash back that I have earned but have not been paid ?

    - Or Could anyone else please confirm that this is the case

    Thanks
If you state you wish to close the account, then I think you will not earn any more cashback from the date that notice is received.
    (See term 11.7)

Hence, presumably why Starline suggested you allow Aqua to close the account for you.

In either case, see Q7 of the 'your questions answered' for confirmation of when you will receive your cashback.

... or if you let Aqua close the account, you could even refer to the first paragraph of the letter itself. ;)

Hmm surprising that MSE doesn't censor the word "!!!!!!"

As a frequent overseas traveller, the tiny credit limit offered on the Aqua reward card makes it almost unusable for overseas trips - the credit limit would not be enough to pay for one weeks hotel, let alone all the other expenses.

And even if I were to just use it in the odd bar/bistro, I'd be so worried about busting that tiny credit limit if I used it more than a couple of times (and hence lose the whole years cashback) I just wouldn't risk it.

I don't have time or the inclination to keep checking my available balance and making FP from my own bank account when travelling overseas ... even if I can find suitable internet access to do so.

Using Smart phones abroad for internet access can be very expensive too.

My limit is £1600 on Aqua, so it's not a problem to me. Fortunately I have a corporate Visa card that I use for all my travel expenses, so I just use the Aqua for personal purchases. As most of my travel is to the US I make considerable savings on clothes and tech stuff.

    Aqua has served me well.

Hmmm if it gives cashback on foreign purchases, I might just keep it then, because I buy things in USD from time to time :)

EDIT: Actually Im DEFINITELY getting rid now after I saw this:

    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/travel/cheap-travel-money#howgood

I already have the Cap1 Classic Xtra, and not only do they give me a higher limit, and the same amount of cashback as Aqua do, and the same cashback abroad, as well as now being a top travel card, it also pays me £10/year which is around a £2000 spend

So Aqua can go die! :D

EDIT 2: Oh :( It's for "new customers only" Maybe I could phone them...

I don't see the problem? It's a top card for spending??

That is close to how the late Bill Deeds might have said "City of London" though.

I'm going to let the old Aqua card lapse on 22nd Jan. Once the cashback is received then post off the application for the new 0.5% card.
This way I won't have to wait for the anniversary to get my 'free' £100.

Received mine today, I might just keep it for the overseas spending, I have a reasonable limit and it doesn't cost me anything to keep it. Can someone confirm definitively that cashback does accumulate on overseas spend - I read somewhere that it didn't?
