Hi how much does it cost for unlocking say at these market stalls etc usually pls? & does the price vary to phone?

    Price totally depends on the handset. Anything from a fiver to £30+
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • A few years ago I was charged £10 for, what was then, a relatively advanced phone so I can't imagine it being grossly overpriced - considering it is a market stall.

    As noted above, the varying factor will be the handset.

    Just wondering because some phones are £40 more if unlocked sometimes....

    For some phones it is easy to do it yourself (google phone type and unlock and you may find some forum discussions on how to do it).

    If you can't do it yourself you can also get it done on ebay - the specialist unlocking people will have a big list of prices for different phones.

    Not bought as yet but as mentioned earlier in checking costs just wondered if best to get one locked that's cheaper then pay to get unlocked or free if possible?

    To state the obvious, it's the total costs that counts, so just factor in the unlock charge if you buy a locked handset.
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
