Which TV would you choose

All I want is a good sharp picture, not looking for a smart tv.
This is a list of three I have been looking at.

Panasonic Viera TX-L32EM6B £279.

Panasonic Viera TX-L32B6B £249.

Sony KDL32R423ABU £249.

Appreciate any help.

I have just bought the smart vetsion of the Panasonic but a 39" version. Had it a week so far and can say I am delighted with it as like you I'm fussy about picture quality. The HD picture quality on Sky I've only seen bettered on more expensive sets. The SD quality is also ptetty good. Read the reviews on Amazon and you'll see they are both great choices.

Many thanks, I will read the Amazon reviews now.

Why are you going for such a tiny screen, they shrink with use you know.;)
That gum you like is coming back in style.

Are you using Sky, Virgin or freeview?

Of the ones you listed, I'd choose the first as it is 1080p, not 720p.

But, I'm not you. My advice would be to go to a shop, see them in the shop and buy them from the shop. That way you get to decide which one you like the best.

I would also throw the following into the mix:
    http://www.richersounds.com/product/tv---all/lg/32ln540v/lg-32ln540v

...and while you say you don't want a smart TV, here's another one in budget:

    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?

You know I might just go for a 39 inch, why not.

    I only have freeview.
I have been to Currys and like the look of the first panasonic.
I would love the 39, might still go with a 39, just afraid when I get it home it might look huge.
The LG from Richer Sounds, as you say, is another one into the mix.
Present TV is a 32 inch Samsung. Not even looking at another Samsung.

Had a look at picture quality in tescos the other day - the Panasonic was far more detailed than the other (samsungs, lg etc) tellies on display. A sweaty lady was on view after doing some gymnastics - on the Panasonic you could clearly see beads of perspiration on her brow; the other tv's you couldn't see any.
Bears out what was said on the Gadget Show I watched the other day; Panasonic winning overall.
I'd buy one (had I any money!)

You'd need to make sure you're comparing like with like. That's the issue - some people don't realise that "Full HD" and "HD ready" are not the same, but they think both are "HD TVs"
To compare 2 TVs, look at the input and the output.
    Freeview HD > Freeview
    Full HD (1080p) > HD Ready (720p)

But you'll get some TVs with Freeview HD built in, but only 720p output. That's a waste of money, in my opinion.
If you've got 1920x1080 coming in, you want 1920x1080 coming out.
