Last I was in Costco they had a leaflet - not sure what the percentages were, but maybe worth looking into?

I'm looking for something that would allow me to accept payments over the phone.

OP, your best option is Intuit Pay UK - Free for a basic account with the ability to take payments over the phone. (2.75% fee on purchases and no monthly fee) You can also purchase a bluetooth chip and pin device for £79.99+VAT allowing you to take payments face to face using an ios device.

If you don't like apple, then you can get a chip and pin device from payleven as they work on android devices and tablets aswell as ios.

The device with payleven costs £59.99 (2.75% fee on purchases and no monthly fee) but there is no option to take payments over the phone.

Im unable to post links as i'm a new user but im sure you can google "PayLeven" and "Intuit Pay UK"

  • I'm absolutely loving WorldPay Zinc. The customer service folk have been fab, had no problems with it, and didn't even get charged for the (bluetooth) chip and pin (currently under £50 with referral code) until a month later (by which time it had paid for itself)
Plus points: low fees (2.75% per transaction)
Can process telephone orders (customer not present)
Can email secure links for people wanting to pay by card at home
Really user friendly and works no problem over 3G if no wi-fi (as i found out last week at a really busy fair!)
It's made a huge difference to me.
