            1/250 consoles is a pretty high ratio...0

Ya know, I once bought a 360 2.5 years after release, and I still had the RROD.Knowledge is a tool, and like all tools, its impact is in the hands of the user.0

is this genuine or scare mongering by someone connected to microsoft or a xbox fanboy? whatever the case maybe you have to be mental to get a launch console and not wait a year for any faults to become known.0

As per usual, I see that there are issues with the PS4 due to a huge lack of pre-release testing.
I predict that as Microsoft are also in a rush to get their console out there, there will be a lot of people reporting crash-issues with their shiny XBox Ones.
The main lesson to learn is to never, ever buy a next-gen console until at least 6 months after launch. This gives the manufacturer a chance to fix all the issues & apply upgrades to the hardware & software.
Not necessarily true! I pre-ordered my PS3 for release date, picked it up the first day, play it regularly and its still going strong, never let me down since the day i opened the box! (although i did upgrade the hdd as 60gb was too small)0

my 40gb ps3 only lasted 18months of light use before the ylod, never bothered getting it fixed. Also on the 4th 360(!) but that gets far more use. The Wii is fine 0 0

A failure rate of 1/250 is highly acceptable. In home electricals/entertainment systems they aim for under 3% failure in the first year.
White goods manufacturers aim for under 5% 1st-year fails.
I used to work in Medical Diagnostics & the average fail rate for the kit we made was 0.5% despite each unit being fully-tested prior to shipping.Never Knowingly Understood.

I'm not scare mongering, just a friendly reminder for people to keep their warranties. And I am by no means an xbox fanboy! If anything I'm a Sony fangirl. Not mental either, I've been waiting for the PS4 for years and this is the first time a new console has been released where I've been in a position to get one day one, if everyone waited a year the faults wouldn't become known at all now would they
You would't tell someone who wanted an iPhone 5 to wait a year would you? Granted those things have a quicker turnover than a console but still:o0

Well there are quote obviously going to be millions of "mental" people buying both systems at launch.donnajunkie wrote: »is this genuine or scare mongering by someone connected to microsoft or a xbox fanboy? whatever the case maybe you have to be mental to get a launch console and not wait a year for any faults to become known.
There is an HDMI issue with the PS4 but it appears you can fix the issue by making sure a piece of metal at the HDMI port is sitting flush as opposed to being raised and catching on the cable as it's inserted.0

sorry i was just speculating at the possibility. also its just my personal stance that i would prefer to wait after the 360 ring of death and the ps3 yellow light of death. i genuinely hope your console works fine and has no problems. by the way did you hear theres a new uncharted coming to ps4?meeshpeesh wrote: »I'm not scare mongering, just a friendly reminder for people to keep their warranties.
