    Romania looks cheap?!

Moldova wants to join but do we want no buffer between the EU & Russia?

    Do we need a buffer.

May as well let them blend into one.

    All those natural resources.

    Free trade zone.

There would be no need for migration/immigration.

It would allow for the slow encapsulation of the Middle East and
North Africa to one homogeneous bloc that could enjoy the "benefits" of "the west" without all that need for unrest.

Why would the greedy house building firms in this country want to build MORE houses than they do already.
This would only keep prices in check and stop them zooming even higher.
Supply and demand, in their case keep the demand up but the supply down.

Rip off Britain at it`s best.

Why is this not the case in France?

Why don't their greedy builders want to build 130k units so prices zoom even higher?

Needless to say your post is not only stupid but harmful in placing the blame far from the cause of the problem

Are you a builder or something?
The greedy builders have been sitting on land banks for years waiting for the first chance to hike prices.
This idiotic government have given them the golden opportunity to do just this with their FLS and Help to Buy.
Did they really expect the builders to NOT increase prices.

You seem to be not only stupid in your reply but very naïve.

Immigration, or a massive increase in the birth rate, is the only viable solution.

Global population will peak by 2060 and decline thereafter.

The population of working age people in most major economies will start to decline long before then, in some it's declining already.

The consequences of that are absolutely disastrous.

Our best chance of maintaining prosperity and stability for the future is to massively ramp up immigration now, before other countries start to compete for the young of tomorrow.

How can anyone know what the global population will be beyond 2060?
Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.

    Dumb and dumber

Why don't the french builders do the same
Why don't they land bank and wait for greedy higher prices?
Why are they building 421k vs 130k in the uk , what is the difference

Your answer of greed is plain stupid becuase that exist in both France and the UK so again how do they manage an adequate supply? ?

The experts whose jobs it is to study demographics past and present and in all nations give a range and nost project a rise to 10-11 B before a decline.

Of course things can change but what seems fairly solid is the trend for two children per women.

The big unknown imo is if the scientists of the world can develop a drug or other technique to extend life beyond the current 90-100 upper limits.

If they could add 50 years the population would not peak at 11B but at ~17B

But imagine the unimaginable and they discover indefinite life the population woild reach unimaginable numbers.

Not much of a business strategy if that's the case. Taylor Wimpey managed to lose £2.5bn in the 5 years to the end of 2012.
