Mobility and Care payments

Could anyone tell me if the mobility and care payments are paid as one payment or as seperate payments to your bank account. I have applied for DLA over a couple of months ago. Had received a letter a week ago apologising for the delay due to workload. Checked my bank balance online yesterday and found that there was a large amount deposited into my account. the description says bank credit. No other description. Not complaining mind you. Do DLA normally pay you backdated payments before the letter has reached you?

I assume income support will be automatically informed
Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems :( Well at least i learn something on the way :D

  • They are paid as one payment into the account.

The information on the bank statement will state DLA - mine does!

DLA does not affect your Income Support at all - it is entirely separate and it not taken into account of any calculations.

was wondering who else can pay a sum just under £1000 into my account. Regarding Income Support, aren't you suppose to get extra amount if you are on DLA?

sounds like it could be backdated DLA asI know a few people who got approx £900-£1000 first payment due to being backdated about 3-4 months. check your bank account tomorrow and see if it shows who the payment is from, I know on the day anything is credited it just says " bank credit " then usually enxt day will say " DLA " then national insurance number. If not you can phone your bank and they will tell you who it is from.

They seem to be slow getting the letters out.

Does a DLA representative/examiner visit you for assessment? No one has been to see me. I had assumed they always send a doctor out to assess your mobility and needs etc

are they informed by DLA or do i have to tell them?

i assume council tax, child tax credit/benefit need not be informed.

They should both arrive together - although if you have been leasing a Motability car and then stop, or one component has been stopped for any reason and then restarted, it can take a few months for both payments to get back on cycle.

    Lin :)
You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)

You should inform the Council Tax people since there is a disability element of that. Not sure if CTC add a disability premium but would think that they do. I don't have children myself.

have a look at www.entitledto.co.uk and see what it says - once you have clicked on the DLA options.

Since i am exempt from paying council tax due to being on income support and a lone parent do i still have to inform the council tax?

thanks for the link. will have a look at in now
