Bath Keeps Filling Up With Water

This is a weird one! (and sorry if this is the wrong place to put this!)
We fill our bath up with a low level of water as one of our cats has a habit of running around the bath at night (we have two cats but need to keep them separate at the moment as we're introducing them to one another.)
However, the next day the water level has significantly risen! Neither my husband or I have filled the bath up anymore. I've checked to make sure that both the taps aren't dripping (they're not), made sure the shower over the bath isn't dripping (it's not) so I have no idea where this excess water is coming from.
Our water bill has just risen by £13 a month and I'm starting to wonder if this has something to do with it.
It's an odd problem, especially where there aren't any drips from anyway. I've googled the problem but nothing much is coming up!
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thank you.

At night the water pressure can increase significantly as nobody is using it. I'd suggest your non leaking taps at lower pressure actually leak quite badly during the night.
Easy to resolve, just set your alarm for 3am and take a look. If they're leaking then fix.Pants0 -
The cat(s) are urinating in the bath???
Footnote, don't use the bath.
2nd footnote, stop jerkin around and ask a serious question,
:D
Edit;
Can't believe the poster above or anyone else will give a serious answer here, maybe Morticia has a secret agenda of which I don't know, or he/she likes to fill a hot bath and wait till morning until it has chilled to use it, kinky.
Given the post count, something dubious is happening and it ain't the 1st of April.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
sounds like a strange problem.
Not sure what could be causing it apart from a dripping tap / shower.
If you leave the bath empty but with the plug in, do you get any water collecting in the bottom after a few hours?0 -
the cat is playing games with you...

Your cats have learned to turn the tap on. And off.0

Thanks for the replies. I'd love nothing more for this to not be a real problem, but alas it is! I wasn't actually going to post this on here for fear of people thinking I was a troll but desperate times and all that!
I'll try the plug and empty bath thing. It's just so annoying because the water is coming from somewhere and it's driving me crazy not knowing from where!
Next step will be setting my alarm for 3am (gulp!)2019 Wins

There's a method of isolating whether the problem lies with the shower or the taps (or both!) that doesn't involve getting up at 3am. Just pull the shower head down on its cable and leave it dangling into a container, then put another container under the bath taps. Then come back in the morning. You'll see what's leaked.
