Noisy radiator on new system

Hello there....
I had a new boiler fitted approx 2weeks ago and haven't used the CH system until the weekend.
When it was on, one of the radiators started to make a groaning noise, so I turned the TRV down a little and it stopped.
What could this be? It did it the following night too and then only way to stop it is to have the radiator off.

As macman says the system probably has air in it.
Bleed the radiators see if that helps.0 -
Bleed the rad, you may need to adjust the balance by closing the valve a little (the one at the other end to the TRV), possibly using a spanner. You get rads banging when you are putting too much demand on the system and the boiler pump is surging to meet the demand.0

Mine did this i bleed the rad made no differance, All i think it is that it's a new better boiler with a bigger pump throwing water through the system.
If it gets hot and you have no leaks you may just accept the noise as i do.:D0 -
I bled the rad and as I opened it water spurted out immediately which tells me there was air in it, correct?
Spoke to the guy who fitted the boiler and he wants £110+vat to come fit a new TRV as he says it probably faulty - although it never made this noise before the new boiler was fitted!!
Anything else I can try? I'm not just going to live with the noise as it wakes everyone in the house!!!0 -
anyone? woken up again this morning :mad:0

No, it tells you that there isn't air in it. Bled the whole system?
You don't need a GSR RGI to install a TRV, it's a DIY job, or one for a plumber. You only need an RGI to work on gas appliances, i.e. the boiler itself. Not on the rads.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Sorry that's what I meant. Yep, bled the whole system. Had it turned fully on and it still made the noise from the TRV so would you say that's definitely the problem?
To replace I assume drain the system, change it and then refill with inhibitor and bleed all the rads??0 -
Have you tried taking the TRV apart & pressing the little button up & down a few times.
Maybe a little WD40 or something might help.
P.S.
No water will come out of the TRV.0 -

Have you tried adjusting the other valve like i suggested?0
