to be honest i imagine it as being a highly lucrative business and yes i have been stung in the past a few times and never bothered to write a letter as it just seems so hard to get your money back

I've looked at some of these broker sites and by design it isn't immediately obvious that they aren't offering loans. I imagine that the rotters behind those businesses do so because it's legal skulduggery and so much safer and less stressful than robbing a bookmaker's shop with a shotgun in hand or pushing Class A drugs.

Don't feel too bad about being taken in because there's much bigger financial parasites out there who'll scam people for a lot more than the few hundred quid tops you may have lost.
  • yeah i agree i mean 69.99 is enough to lose i know there is worse scams out there i honestly dont think i would be half as bothered as i was if it was 20 quid but 70 is a lot of money

It's time that all payment screens for all shops and services had a big warning, in bold red font:

"DO NOT ENTER YOUR CARD DETAILS UNLESS YOU WANT TO SPEND SOME MONEY. ENTERING YOUR CARD DETAILS CAN BE SERIOUSLY DETRIMENTAL TO YOUR WEALTH. ENTERING YOUR CARD DETAILS IS CLEAR EVIDENCE OF AN EXPECTATION TO SPEND. YOU ARE A ****WIT IF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND THAT ENTERING YOUR CARD DETAILS IMPLIES AN AGREEMENT TO HAVE MONEY TAKEN OUT OF YOUR BANK ACCOUNT"

Not big enough or bold enough. It needs to be in flashing 72pt multicoloured bold Impact while the disembodied head of Anne Robinson barks it at you at 400 decibels.

And even then, people would still complain they weren't told.
