I am sure it's seven years from new registration. My daughter bought a C'eed and the warranty runs out when it's seven years old.

He's right, seven years from the date of purchase. I just bought one and assumed I'd only have 6 years warranty left but was told it was the full 7 years as it was a Kia approved car or something. I have all the paper work for it.

Not every car that comes from a hire company will have been on day hires. They also do short leases and this can be a very effective way for companies to run a fleet that wouldn't be tolerable if they were buying them and maintaining them.

I believe the Kia and Hyundai warranties are only manufacturers warranties for the first few years then they revert to "dealer warranties" which require main dealer servicing to keep the warranty intact.

Not actually that rare as Subaru used to do it, 2 yr EU manufacturers warranty and one year dealer warranty.
