Does sky keep the old box when signing up again and getting replacement?

Hi,
A member of my family works in a call centre on a sky contract and as far as I am aware has signed up to the free package that is one of the perks of her job. Sky tv only ...as I am in on fibre and phone with Talktalk and perfectly happy with service and price at the moment.
My old pace sky box is about 13 years old, the dish is very rusty but everything functions ok as free to air.
I believe that sky might install a HD box but just wondering will I be able to keep the old pace one as a backup, what is sky's policy on old hardware that the customer may have?
Thanks for any info.

I understood that the box was yours from day one? With due respect, they aren't likely to want your Pace box...
I had Sky 20+ years ago and they didn't want my old Amstrad 16-channel box back when I left them.0 -
Sky don't ever require the return of any receiving equipment. As above, it belongs to the customer from day one and remains so.0

Unlike VM, none of the equipment is leased. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Sell it, use it as a doorstop its yoursDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
