If you want something really powerful, I'd recommend getting a SH 'integrated amplifier' and bookshelf speakers.

It's easy to get an amp and bookshelves for under £30 that will whip any store bought system under £150, including the PC set ups.

Wattage wise, you'd commonly be looking at about 50w per side. Plenty enough for an office, smallish party etc.

Amp: Cambridge audio A1, Rotel etc.

Speakers: Eltax, Denon, Cerwin Vega etc.

Would link to some auctions but can't post links yet.

Only issue is finding a seller close to you, because P&P can be a pain!

OP is getting small speaker for PC use in work. I don't assume he is at home. AMP + bookshelf speaker is not good option

With outstanding sound clarity and volume, the SoundScience QSB feature DyadUSB technology for 15W per channel audio from just 2.5W of power.
    Snakeoil.

output 30W is what online retailer they quote for a pair of speakers.
Similarly, creative t20 output is 28W in total, 14W each.

Notice the Amazon link says "peak" wattage. Peak wattage is meaningless. 30w (peak) max would probably be about 15w RMS, so 7.5wRMSpc.

Which would make it approx only 50% louder than an XMI mini (2x7.5w does not 15w make, in SPL terms).

30w out of 2.5w input is not possible, not for more than a few fractions of a second.

I'd go for a decent watt-rated cheap-ish set of creative or Logitech pc speakers, seen plenty of these used by the regulars on offshore oil platforms (when off shift) pumping out questionable music tastes over the background hum of heavy machinery...

X-mini's are nice little units but I thing you need something with a few more watts behind it from the sounds of things

So is 7.5w. As I said earlier the claims are totally spurious. This is pure snakeoil.
