I got some film for my study window which made it one way (I can see out but during the day people can't see in) - might be a solution for your aunt so she can still sit at the window without being seen? It was fairly cheap too.
• This is from the Royal Mail website: (see the bold and underlined paragraph) obviously this will only apply to parcels which are delivered by Royal Mail and not any other couriers

Opt out of Delivery to Neighbour

You can opt of Delivery to Neighbour by displaying a sticker at your address. Please note, senders of items will not be able to opt-out from Delivery to Neighbour.
You can opt out by calling 08456 113 420
• I understand that by opting out of Delivery to Neighbour, any mail items which cannot be delivered to my address because I am not at home, will be returned to my local Royal Mail Delivery Office, for me to collect or to arrange a re-delivery.
• I understand that by opting out of Delivery to Neighbour, I am opting out of taking receipt of my neighbours’ items also.
• I am aware that opting out of Delivery to Neighbour applies to items delivered by Royal Mail only.
• I understand it is my responsibility to display the sticker at all times. If the sticker is not made easily visible at my address, items may be delivered to a neighbour if I am not at home or I may be asked to take receipt of my neighbours’ item(s).
• I understand that if at any time I change my mind and decide not to opt-out, then I need only to remove the sticker.
• I confirm the sticker will be displayed at my address so it is easily visible to the Royal Mail postman or woman.

I would have thought that any understanding neighbours wouldn't be slightest bit peeved if she put a sign up at door providing she explained to them that she is unable to answer door due to her age and being fragile etc
• If she never has parcels delivered for herself then you could put a note on the door saying 'sorry I am unable to get to the door to take in parcels'.

A simple sign on the door saying something like 'PARCEL DELIVERIES: Sorry, I can only accept parcels for this address only, no exceptions, thank you for your consideration' should suffice.

Now that sounds like a GREAT note, polite and to the point. Aunt might expect some of the offending neighbours to be a little offhand with her in the future but if they are, what does it matter - wouldn't be worth knowing anyway!

This can't continue to spoil her enjoyment of a quiet gaze out of the window so hope it works. My old Mum likes to sit gazing out as well, we put a bird feeder outside and she loves watching them feed, they often show their appreciation by !!!!ping on her windows when they leave! :)
Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.
• Thanks for your post, yes I think one chap has some sort of business and he gets a lot of parcels. He obviously knows the stuff is due to arrive but still goes out on jobs and leaves it to anyone else - namely my poor old auntie - to deal with his deliveries.

In which case get her to sign M Mouse, and pretend that she's got dimentia and can't remember a thing about it. Keep said item for a week, and then you take it back, saying, you've just found it in the garden waste bin. (Coat it liberally with damp soil) .

Problem solved ?
• Why dont you politely speak to the neighbours explaining that she can no longer accept parcels for deliveries. Tell them if they expect a parcel to put a note on the door explaining a safe place and not to disturb #4 (or whatever her number is)

Put a sign on her door explaining "NO NEIGHBOUR PARCELS PLEASE"

i am sure the neighbours would understand, if they dont, stuff them and put the sign up anyway.
