Inflation down to 2.2%

I don't understand this - certainly doesn't feel like it. NOT that I even believe the numbers for one second. But how can this be this case if housing was included in the figures not long ago and now they're saying there is an uptake in housing? It all reeks..

Inflation is 2.2% if you live in a Plasma Television, eat Ipods, wear Blu Ray Disc Players, and never plug them in ;)

How can anyone trust a politician who devises a scheme that inflates house prices and calls it 'Help to Buy' :rotfl:

I have been thinking it for a while already, but now I have to say it: if only Glen Clark would run the UK, we'd be rid of all our problems in a heartbeat.

That's the trouble with inflation - it is a very personal thing.

I have family in Spain so fly back and forth a lot. So travel dropping and a stronger £ helps me.

I work largely from home and when I go to London or wherever travel largely off peak. That has gone up a bit.

I do a lot of home cookery and drink less in pubs but drink more and better quality with friends. Noticed wine going up an a drop in world production is not going to help in the future.

Hardly ever buy stamps now and do a lot more meetings over the net. Not so much inflation but dropping costs.

I'm with EDF so glad the rise was lower than most.

So I can believe 2.2 or better for me. But if I was paying for kids well - I'm glad I'm not ;)

That just about sums it up correctly!
We all notice everyday things increasing in price rapidly to realise that 2.2% is a fiddle!

So your saying the government should publish inflation figures ignoring a large expenditure of a very large group of the population? ;) And then you wouldn't accuse them of fiddling?

I'd agree with you that a society that needs the latest phones, electronic games, plasma ............ to be happy might be lacking values but to ignore them ????

Of course you wouldn't notice. Interest rates are still at 0.5%.
