Leaking hosepipe

I bought a pro Hoselock hosepipe 3 years ago it suppose to be anti kink. Which is put away in a Hoselock container. Recently its had two leaks the hose consists or two layers maybe more I can see what between the layer where the small less than 1mm hole is.
We only use it to wash car and very occasionally garden, certainly should last more than 3 years it says 20 years on Hoselock

Of course I dont have a guarantee not sure where I bought it now.
Anyway I tried last week using a good quality duck tape made by 3m which is clear and contains some sort of material in it and suppose to be uv protective. Only that's coming way already after only one use.
Whats best way to stop it leaking please. It needs to be thin so it can be put back into this

I already replaced the original hoselock hose as it was kinking a lot. I only run the hose mostly on blocked paving its never abused occasionally it runs on a pebbled garden path to water garden but that's only a few times a year. I also protect the tap from frost, take the gun out and also drain water from it every time we use it

Most Hozelock hoses can withstand quite a fair amount of rough treatment.
Do the surfaces that you are dragging it along have sharp/rough edges?
Is there a chance that it can get caught between a rough stone or something similar?
Have you tried Gaffa/cloth tape?If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!

A small part of the area is concrete slightly rough its an old driveway. The majority of area is smooth block paving
I used gaffy tape made by 3m its clear type I found the cheap stuff crap in past hence I buy good quality tape. That stuff isnt much better as I sued it to repair a plastic greenhouse and the glue come away after a few monthsMost Hozelock hoses can withstand quite a fair amount of rough treatment.

I'm surprised that the 3M tape is coming off so soon? Most 3M tape is usually good for industrial applications too. Did you ensure that the hose pipe surface was clean and free of any grease before applying the tape? Check what applications the tape you have is suitable for and whether it is designed to repel water. If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!

Just contacted Hoselock this morning and they have told me to send parts of the hose which is damaged to them and they replace the hose. I would call that a result and thanks to them. Also thank you Myser0

For future reference, self amalgamating tape might have made a successful repair.
It is excellent stuff and fairly inexpensive.Self-amalgamating tape is a non-tacky silicone-rubber tape which when stretched and wrapped around cables, electrical joints, hoses and pipes amalgamates itself into a strong, seamless, rubbery, waterproof, and electrically insulating layer.[1][2] While not adhesive as such, its self-amalgamating property makes it function as an adhesive tape when wrapped. It is supplied in rolls with an interleaving layer (to prevent the tape from amalgamating before use). It may be made with an iron-oxide additive which adds high thermal conductivity. This tape is used extensively in aviation and aerospace wiring applications as a splice or wrapping tape due to its non-flammability. It can be used for emergency repair of leaking low-pressure hoses and pipes.0 -
There lower range hoses are pretty poor to be honest, but I'm sure the best is supposed to have a 20 year warranty?
I had such a hose as mine gets a regular and hard life, 1 of the 20 year ones lasted me just 5 years, and that was after shortening it twice.
Yes I should have sent it back but hey ho....;);)
PS, the standard H/D ones from B&Q are poor.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
Does anyone HONESTLY believe that anything plastic, pliable, hollow and flexible will NEVER kink and last a lifetime, or that ANY tape will make a permanent repair

Are you referring to Jordan's tits?
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
They aren't going to last a lifetime, not without a liberal supply of Dunlop puncture patches, :rotfl::rotfl:I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
