I'm not sure if this has been mentioned or not but for pip you need to do a mandatory reconsideration before you can appeal

This is somewhat less relevant for PIP than ESA.
For PIP it's just slightly more annoyance in that you have to explicitly send the tribunals service your appeal after MR - rather than the DWP doing it automatically.

DLA was never paid on the basis that you had made an appeal against their decision.

They stated they will phone me before Wednesday, to explain their reasoning, then it says i can't appeal before asking then to do a reconsideration, which i am going to.

When i ask for reconsideration, do i have to provide more info to them from my physio?

    No.
However - a reconsideration with more evidence if your existing evidence is not clear on specific points that you are appealing about is unlikely to overturn the original decision.

Decisions are only overturned at reconsideration if they are clearly wrong.

asked them to consider the decision again yesterday - weird thing is the decision maker told me he is not the DM who issued the original decision, he is going to review it based on new info that i told him - will keep this thread up to date with whats going on.

    Good luck matey.
  • Good Luck W. Did the DM give a you an approximate timescale before you hear anything, because you have already done months of waiting in the various audit piles already?

Thanks, no there were no details he said he didn't know, but did say it would be by letter that he will let me know.
