OK. Fine, but your comment read as if you were advising me the battery would not be charged if it was not returned to the base.Actually my comment was valid and prompted me to contact Duracell to ask whether constant recharging (by returning to base) or letting the batteries run down slightly (by leaving off base) made any difference to battery life (I'm not referring to the situation with laptop batteries but the fact that some brands state X amount of recharges possible ) and was informed that there is no difference....so next time I'm told off for not replacing the handset..."0844 COSTS YOU MORE"0 -
But the battery will not be charged if the 'phone is not returned to base!OK. Fine, but your comment read as if you were advising me the battery would not be charged if it was not returned to the base.
Where do you think the battery receives the electricity to charge from if not from the base?0 -
Excuse me, I may be old but I am not an idiot.Moneyineptitude wrote: »But the battery will not be charged if the 'phone is not returned to base! Where do you think the battery receives the electricity to charge from if not from the base?
Of course I know the batteries are charged from the base, I cannot believe you even mentioned it! I have had DECT phones for several years and do realiese the batteries do not charge themselves. Goodness me!!! Ineptitude may be your name but it is not mine."0844 COSTS YOU MORE"0 -
Not unless they are on the base station.NimH batteries are not supposed to have the memory thing, and in the phones they are constantly on charge.
As I said earlier in the thread, this advice is correct!:eek:OK. Fine, but your comment read as if you were advising me the battery would not be charged if it was not returned to the base.
Your earlier posts would seem to indicate that you thought otherwise, it's hardly my fault if your posts are not clear.Excuse me, I may be old but I am not an idiot.

Was there really any need for such a response?Goodness me!!! Ineptitude may be your name but it is not mine.0 -
I was merely responding in kind, as I was offended that you would even think that I did not realise the batteries were charged by the base station. Let's leave it there, as your intentions were honourable.,Moneyineptitude wrote: »Was there really any need for such a response?"0844 COSTS YOU MORE"0 -
