and colwyn bay too!!! :rotfl:
Hmm you are right! The shame is Colwyn Bay used to be a really nice little town, a cut above the aforementioned. Sadly not now however.
P.S. I feel qualified to comment, I do have a business in Colwyn Bay :eek:Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

I have 3 american friends over for on sat for 10 days. They obviously want to see as much as they can but owing to the state of the dollar, will find things expensive compared to home. I live near harlech but will be taking them around snowdon, llandudno, chester, dublin for the day. Any other suggestions where to go or good places to eat?
From my point of view.. the best place to go in North Wales would be the Motorway out of there... BUT.. Liverpool is great for sights!
Ferry across the Mersey tours
Beatles Museum
Albert Docks
Science Museum
Tate Gallery
Matthew Street
Paddy's Wigwam
The football grounds...
Americans will love all this there...
And Chester is brilliant but alot more expensive...
You've got the Walls.. obviously the Tudor property throughout the centre to look at.. the Ampitheatre... the Little Roodee Race course...0 -
Most Americans love to see castles - they just don't have anything that old. Criccieth, Caernarfon, Harlech and many more. Check out cadw's website for most of them. Snowdon Railway is expensive, but in Llanberis the Slate Museum is free and very interesting.
As a volunteer on the Ffestiniog Railway I'd have to recommend that, as a North Wales resident you can buy a "The Card" for (I think) £10, and your ticket is then 1/4 price for the next 5 years.ilovefreegle.org - give it away don't throw it away0 -

I apoligise for my spellings of all of the welsh towns
from someone who is sat typing this looking over at the Liver birds i would recommend Liverpool as a tourist attraction but not for someone from america visiting harlech - i would reccomend a coastal tour probably up coast you are on the doorstep from portmerion/harlech castle portmadog criccith -lunch at abersoch or aberaron (glyn llwyn)i think overlooks the beach and bay at aberaron great pub grub.Nefyn Caenarfon Llandudno Conwy for Tea on the harbour for ice cream then back over the mountains bodnant gardens Llanwrst Bewts-y-coed Bedgellert(take them to the grave massive history lesson from a time theve never imagined) Ffestiniog Dougellu Barmouth home
Or take them to the nudist beach at Dyffryn Ardewy that will be a eye opener:eek:
How is that for a day out
also see other similar post from a lady staying at pontins with her kids alot more things to do:cool: hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0 -

Hey tibb57, Just a quick thought , if you're in Caernarfon , The Black Boy inn is an olde world pub that impresses Americans. Good LuckEvery day when I wake up I thank the Lord I'm WELSH. .0

There's a nice restaurant in Colwyn Bay called Virgilios and not far away between Colwyn Bay and Llandudno in Penrhyn Bay is a nice country pub called the Queen's Head which has great food.

What a load of rubbish, What is it with the english, you're so insecure, You all seem to think the Welsh are against you. I suppose ' everyone in the pubs in Wales speak english untill you walk in, then they all started speaking Welsh'!
I sugested The Black Boy because of it's olde world appeal to visitors of all Nationalities.Every day when I wake up I thank the Lord I'm WELSH. .0
