places to go in North Wales
Options
I have 3 american friends over for on sat for 10 days. They obviously want to see as much as they can but owing to the state of the dollar, will find things expensive compared to home. I live near harlech but will be taking them around snowdon, llandudno, chester, dublin for the day. Any other suggestions where to go or good places to eat?

Portmeireion https://www.portmeirion-village.com is always popular, especially if you hit good weather.0

If doing the Snowdon train rather than walking (and I really recommend the walk), bear in mind that it's currently not going to the summit as it's being rebuilt. It's stopping at the Clogwyn station instead.0

North Wales, a nice place to take your girlfriend; especially if you're going to Bangor.

Avoid Rhyll and Prestatatyn! And Talacre!Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

and colwyn bay too!!! :rotfl:I heart The Capital0 -
Chester is dear - the cheapest place for a decent meal used to be the Cathedral and I think you can still get in free if you go via the shop in Abbey Square. However, take sandwiches and enjoy the Rows, St Johns, the Walls, the Roman Garden by Newgate etc.
If you are serious about saving money, see the outside of the local castles and let them enjoy the gorgeous scenery. Llandudno is such a stereotypical 'English' seaside town that someone from the US may enjoy it!
Do the cheesy stuff - get fish & chips or a curry, buy the Welsh cakes off a market stall. I think someone who is new to Wales will love it!
I hope you have a brilliant time!
HevAlways another chapter0
