I have been astounded by the difference in quotes..... We're not talking a few quid here... If this happened in different stores for say, the price of milk, be in organic, packaged in gold etc. there would be outrage. I am amazed they get away with it.... and concerned that vulnerable people won't question it. Appalling.0

is that supply ? Trade . £1100 seems a little pricey but we dont know whats involved except its a back door .
This was from a local company, i got a colour with a designed glass that has poss put price up. This was it fitted with 10 year gaurentee. I had price for upvc and it wasnt that much cheaper if i recall.0 -

Government and British standards now determine that products all have to be A Grade for energy efficiency if provided by a FENSA regulated company. All have the 'argon' gas sealed 'technology' in the main... all are steel rust proof framed, and all have 'enhanced security'. Curiously I also EXPECT removal and disposal of my old windows 'for free' as part of the price and of course I expect some form of guarantee.... Perhaps I'm picky....
All windows do not have to be A rated they need to be C-A rated A being the betterif you think peoples advice is helpfull please take the time to clicking the thank you button it gives great satisfaction0 -

you can also buy a skoda car /seat /volkswagon and audi all make similiar cars in all classes but the audi is dearer different companies have different overheads and have different markups on there products this is true of all industriesif you think peoples advice is helpfull please take the time to clicking the thank you button it gives great satisfaction0 -
If prices are based on the overheads then shame on them . I have no office i have 2 staff i use when i need them one builder and one brusher upper. Always do above and beyond what i quoted for normally at no extra. (last door i fixed a step and put a handrail up.) next weeks job i am putting the new curtain rail up at no extra (they dont know yet) If frames are A,B,C,D & E i fit a decent B , not the best but good and the price reflects it.( Synergy) They are audi which is between Jaguar & Toyota but when you have Aston Martin fitting them haha . Shaken not stirred:cool: hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0

Thanks for the replies to my original comment, I have gotten slightly confused about what replies are to what now since someone commented with their own question further up.
I'm not sure if this is typical of how things are done here but it's not hard to make a thread yourself instead of posting in someone elses.
I've accepted a quote from a local company, the guy came round, measured up and was done in 25 minutes. Didn't try a sales pitch or any of that nonsense, just let me ask him questions and I was satisfied with what he said.0
