Broadband/ tv help- new build

Hello,
I'm currently buying a new build with no landline installed. The area is in a poor internet coverage and definitely no cable. I've 'asked Sam' and he says there is adsl - 3mbps available and all the providers except BT had non-LLU after their names.
I only want broadband (not that fussed about landline phone-never use it) and I am also after a tv package. For the tv package sky sports news is a must have for my husband.
What are my options? TBH I had to google LLU so that's how much of a novice I am. To get sky sports news do we have to have Sky? Also at the mo there is no telly arial installed. I don't particularly want to pay for an arial if straight after I am going to have to pay for a sky dish etc?

If you get Sky then you don't need a TV aerial, you only need it for freeview. Sky sports news used to be available on freeview but it isn't anymore, I'm not sure if it is available on youview.
While you aren't fussed about a landline phone, you might as well plug one in as your line rental for your internet is likely to include some periods of free calls, e.g. evenings and weekends. They are also often cheaper to call out on in many circumstances compared to mobiles.0 -
Wikipedia has a list of sources for Sky Sports News HERE
An interesting option (certainly if you're more interested in ariel tv than sky) is the new Now TV box that is selling for £10 and offers On Demand and streamed TV services to your telly. There are more streaming boxes available at higher prices. The only issue is whether your broadband service is up to the job.
A sky package with phone, broadband and tv might offer the easiest and cheapest option. They often will install a phone line for free as well.0 -
You don't need to take Sky phone or broadband to get Sky TV. And you certainly don't want Sky broadband if it's a non-LLU service (the dreaded Sky Connect).
You can't have any form of ADSL broadband without having a landline and paying line rental. If there are no LLU providers on your exchange, then the obvious choice would be Plusnet.
Since it's a new build, you'll need to factor in the cost of the landline provision-anything from £130 down (PN charge around £49).No free lunch, and no free laptop

http://www.tescobroadband.com/ £30 to install phoneDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
