Hi All,

I've been looking for a new Android phone and just came across what looks like a pretty good deal and by far the cheapest I could find this model. The orange-directuk outlet is currently selling the Motorola Razr i for £159.99 including £10 credit - this looks better than the previous deal on Pay As You Go from 3 (which has now sold out online). Seller has 99.8% positive feedback and it's free p&p ;)

The only thing I'm unsure of is whether it's actually unlocked, despite coming from Orange. Having emailed the seller, they responded with 'I'm not really sure'. If anyone can advise on this that would be greatly appreciated! I see absolutely nothing to suggest it is unlocked- it clearly states it has a sim lock so I'd go with that.

The 3 ones were unlocked and bloat free but that's no help to you unless you can find a shop that has one in stock

That's what I thought - 3 phones tend to be unlocked/unbranded, where as Orange are locked (just thought I'd check in case it helped any one on a different network). Still a decent buy as it's hard to find the RAZR i in stock anywhere.

I have a Razr I. Nice phone, particularly nice sized if you don't want something oversized. But be aware that because it's Intel inside, not all Android apps are compatible.
  • My son's intended got the RAZR i from the same ebay seller a couple of months ago and there was no Orange branding or bloatware on the phone. No idea if it's SIM free though as she's on T Mobile/EE so her SIM worked OK (even if it isn't SIM free it's less than £7 on ebay for an unlock code). Incidentally, that was a way better deal than this one (£169.99 with £20 credit thrown in AND a superb Philips bluetooth speaker that tends to go for £40-ish on ebay.)

Superb phone though. Lightning fast, amazing screen size for such a small phone. She's downloaded loads of apps and not found one that doesn't work yet...

I've yet to find an app that isn't compatible because of the processor.
That might have been the case when the phone 1st came out but I don't think it's an issue now

Keep an eye out for the Moto G in a few days. Better spec and same price.
