Quick question: have any fellow jam makers out there used frozen fruit to make jam? I'm considering it but wonder if it changes the flavour at all/makes it weaker?
Used frozen fruit loads of times. Apples (for mint jelly base or apple and blackberry jam) also damsons, raspberries, gooseberries, redcurrant, blackcurrant, blackberry and plum etc etc have all frozen and jammed successfully.
Also limes, for marmalade, will freeze whole (in fact I think somewhere I read that limes for lime marmalade ought to be frozen for 24 hours first as the freezing helps somehow, but best check that out beforehand)
Happy jamming! I always find it a very calming activity. Also the syrups you get from cooking the fruit before the sugar goes in are perfect for icecream toppings or yoghurt flavourings. See how far a teaspoon of blackcurrant syrup goes in yoghurts (no wonder the food industry makes so much ££££) Have fun !“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0 -

Indeed, and well done guys for not rising to the bait. :T
Like a fire needs air to flourish and burn successfully, a troll or an agitator needs responses. If you ignore them and they don't get responses, then they can't function correctly.
So the advice noted above is absolutely the correct way to go about it, but most importantly, ignore, ignore, ignore and don't respond at all - I know sometimes it's hard not to, but each time you want to stop and think about the good of the thread.
Didnt we do well :TIt`s nice to be important, but its more important to be nice.

A little question if I may RF, but does it harm the thread when lots of people report or spam the same posts? As in, it's obviously bringing the thread to the the attention of the forum team again and giving them work if lots of reports are made, but do they see us as following the rules for doing that, or do they get annoyed with us?! Hope that makes sense, I know what I mean anyways! :rotfl:...those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.
