Not sure if it came from here or not, was about the time of mission control. The Pasta was pushed to the back when we got the Paroli stuff.
I chucked out a load of yogurts and was asking myself am I saving money or stockpiling ? So now unless its free free Im not stocking up and unless we will need it soon
I think the penny has dropped for me too:)
Stockpiling isn't good if you can't eat it all:T I'm even careful buying whoopsies now. Can't see the point buying 3 lots of lettuce at 10p a bag if I only need 1.
I think it's a little about respecting the resources we have and wasting less.
I feel I'm in a much better place today than I was a few months or even weeks ago. Don't get me wrong I love a bargain and will be the first to rush out if I REALLY need something but I'm a lot more sensible now.
Still addicted to this bloomin thread though:(:)To do is to be. Rousseau

OH's mum had him once, and we went to pick him up as when we rang to check on his, she had his sisters kids and clearly was not coping. Non of the other kids have been looked after by their grandparents or relatives.
We live around the corner from mum, the kids have never ate at hers. But one sister and her kids were always there and she would have then at least 5 days a week. I asked her once to have them whilst I had a smear.. she refused stating my sister could not cope with shopping without her!!!! I put the kids in the car, and said I wouldn't be a mo.. I went back inside... the language was blue. But she never changed, I just accepted it. She was the one who lost out on that relationship with her grandchildren.
I must say that my sister is now really good with mum who has lots of health problems and as a family we would not cope without their special relationship.:o
I do try and encourage them do spend time with her. Last weekend, i gave mum 3 cinema tickets from m and ms. I asked her to take the boys as they love the cinema. Her first question was did i have another so she could take niece. I told her yes i did but i wanted this to be time with my children. She then phoned to adk what goidies they like?! I said get them a big bag of maltesers and popcorn. She said she wadnt made of money and a small bag would do. Now bear in mind i paid for the cinema, kind of, a small bag of sweets costs 70p and the pouches were £1!! I was fuming. Brought them myself. She got her goat up saying i always want bigger and better. She missed the hit where i was payning for her to take my children out so they like her, and that i knew via sisters facebook, that she had taken my neice and nephew out for dinner the night before. My sister pays for nothing. We went to ikea yesterday, she brought a gingerbread kit for neice. I just walked away. She then appeared with three sets and said she would have all three of them round to make them! My sister has moved next door to her this week. Its gonna be interesting. Please don't judge me. you couldn't handle half of what I've been through.0 -

Happy birthday nerfy, hope you've had a fab day x
I'm in the same boat bananababe, no beans, beer, pasta, crisps or choc here. I'm so busy at the mo it's just easier to grab the household essentials and do a muggle shop.
That and the fact my broadband is completely and utterly carp at the moment, it's a job to get on here. I'm on 3G and trying not to spend a fortune on it whilst I wait for the bloody engineer to sort it.
That's the pits. That's one thing we don't scrimp on our Broadband. Its well used in our house, mainly by kids and husbands work. And me with you lot !! :rotfl:0 -
