Parking fine from smart parking (town and country)

Right so there is actually no free parking by my house, the council will not let me have a permit, and i have to top up a meter between 8-6 outside my house mon-sat if i am there or park half a mile away. Yesterday i came home, no spaces, so i chucked it in the co-op food car park, and went home.
I have a stressful job and a teething 11 month old and in truth i forgot and passed out when my daughter went to sleep, got up for work, realised i forgot to move the car, and on my windscreen one of those lovely tickets offering me to pay £45 in 11 days or pay £90 plus £10 admin fee.
I have paid a lot of these, when i feel I am bang to rights I own up, BUT the co-op have left the building, there is only a co-op sign saying "customer parking only, £1 then spend £10 and get a refund"
On the ticket machine it says "parking suspended"?
Should I be paying this or not? I have about £100 for myself a month once i have paid for travel to work, food and everything my daughter needs, so if i didnt have to pay that would be nice.
At the same time i could do without a bigger fine and a trip to court!
Grateful for any advise.

Wait for the first letter next month, which they call a Notice to Owner. Their current version is not compliant as it doesn't state the contravention (no I don't mean on the windscreen ticket, I realise it's on that). Just keep the ticket and WAIT.
Same advice as ever, read up on appeals in readiness:

HTH - and just to add, we don't condone parking like you describe, BTW. Hardly surprising you got a fake PCN and it's parking like that which PPCs use to justify their existence.I have paid a lot of these, when i feel I am bang to rights I own up,
Whaaaaaaaaaattttttt??????????????? :eek:PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

A 'fake PCN' is a term we use here to describe ANY private parking 'ticket' because they are not real fines. You know, those invoices you have paid in the past!
Pay it if you are that much of a mug. Sorry to be harsh but I have explained what to do but there are always some mugs who pay these fake parking tickets.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Have a look at this 'Walk Through'. But read it in conjunction with what Coupon-mad has already said (she is the expert in all things PCN here, and you won't get any better advice, anywhere).

Thanks for the walkthrough. My car is a lease car from my company, what should i be doing as it says "act fast"?0

Try this as you need to take it away from your company and the lease company
Name
Address
Date
Dear ticketers
As the keeper of (reg number ) I'm in receipt of your parking invoice xxxxx, and wish to invoke your appeals process.
The keeper did not see the signage in this car park, so they are inadequate to form any form of contract, you don't have the necessary permissions and authority to issue these parking invoices. And the amount asked is not a genuine pre estimate of loss.
So you are invited to cancel this invoice now, or will look forward to going to popla who uphold all appeals on the above. If you reject this appeal please provide the popla verification so that can be done.

We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

You should also keep the leasing company informed and tell them that you are disputing the invoice - it is Not a fine - and that they should follow the procedure in Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 and confirm you are the keeper should the Parking Company contact them and under no circumstances should they pay.0

Thanks so much for these I have just sent the letter and will keep you all posted.0

Including notifying the lease company? (This is important - otherwise they may just pay it and try to reclaim from you, including THEIR admin fee).
PS - where is this? (Eng, Wales, Sco, NI)0
