I recently discovered that a friend of mine still lifts her 6-year-old........ and her 9-year-old son
I have a nine-year- old too and we lifted her from about 3 to 3 and a half-ish. After this we just left her to it and she got it in her own time. The youngest was never lifted but got dry at night at the same time as daytime :T
I was shocked to find out about my friend's son. It's not long until he'll be at secondary school- when do you make the break when you've been doing it for so long?!They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.0 -

My eldest wet till he was 13.5, DS2 is still wet at 12 and DD at 6.
I can give a lot of advise regarding bedwetting, but this child is still very young and it isn't really what OP was asking about.
Only suggestions I would give are to encourage LO to do a sit down wee last thing at night. It empties the bladder better than a stand up wee, and if nappy is full when parent goes to bed, then take it off and put a new one on.0 -
It used to be possible to hire a mat which sounded a buzzer, as a child began to wet. Are these no longer recommended ?0

I certainly wouldn't recommend it for such a young child. Bedwetting is completely normal at this age so no need to worry about it too much, the child should get there in his own time. I think the OP was more concerned with how to manage the leakage rather than combatting the wetting:A

Just another thing to add - boys in pullups can have leaks if they are poking out the top or side. Make sure he's pointing down and between the inner gussets, or there will be a leak every time!
My little boy has just turned 4 and we've put him back into night time pullups (or 'bed pants' as we call them), as after 3 dry months he suddenly started wetting every night again.Shrinking my mortgage!
