Taken - penthouse

Having twitched our noses and whiskers at the various one storey hovels offered last night, we have settled for our new duplex - complete with bedrooms, dining area, wheels and toys, and meals on wheels delivered daily. No loo - but hey, we'll do what we've always done to the straw :D

with furry thanks....

I always like a happy ending :D

Hello everyone...

Have you offered something recently only to have the agreed collector fail to turn up with no explanation or apology?

You're not alone!

Nearly every day I get an email reporting such rude and inconsiderate behaviour.

It's obvious something has to be done about those who are ignorant enough to treat people who are offering something for nothing with such disrespect.

Much as I hate to do this, I'm starting to keep tabs.

If you've experienced this behaviour, please email the details
(Name/Yahoo ID/email address) to
freecycle-xxxx@yahoogroups.com. I'm backdating this to the beginning of May.

I'll deal with the reported no-shows in the following way:

- first report: I will treat this as an oversight. There is no excuse for not apologising but computers have been known to go kaput and email is not infallible. However I will note their details and keep them on my watch list.

- second report: I will inform the user that they have been reported to me and that if I get one more report they will be removed from the group.

- third report: I will remove the user from the group.

As I said, I don't like to have to keep tabs this way but a majority of this group are responsible and considerate people who are quickly becoming disillusioned by the thoughtless way in which they are being treated by some members.

If you have any comments on this matter, please contact me. Thanks for reading this :)

i emailed the mods and he's been banned, they were really nice about it. hopefully will stop him doing it to anyone else. i'm glad cos it was quite scary.

it'll be even more scary when he's standing at your door step banging on the door kicking off cos you got him banned from Freecycle. Especially now he can get a new email address and arrange to collect anything you offer..

Doing the right thing isn't always the right thing.
