i see what you mean but regardless of size, its cruel leaving an dog in the boot, trapped in a small confined space, it retrospect a prison.People who do that are not people but more monsters, feel ashamed

are you for real? they don't trap them in a prison no more than taking a cat / puppy to the vets in a pet carrier. They're not 'trapped in a confined space' they're in the boot whilst being transported from one location to another, ie from the home to the park and back.
A car is still a confined space so are you saying dogs shouldn't be allowed in cars either? should all dog owners buy a winnebago so the dog thinks it's still at home whilst being transported to the park? or would that result in relocation stress?

All of the pet carriers that I have seen have spaces so that the dogs can see out. The person in my original post wanted to lock the dog in the boot because they didn't like the smell when the dog was wet. Some people thought they meant a guard to keep there dog at the rear of an estate, but if that was the case they would still be able to smell it.

Acey.. a dog guard is a metal gate that goes between the back seat of the car so the dog can be put in the boot of a hatchback not a saloon. The dog can see out of the back window and through the bars on the gate / guard. If they had a saloon and wanted to lock the dog in the boot they wouldn't be asking for a dog guard would they? they'd just throw the dog in the boot and shut it.
the dog is then trapped between the boot door and the back seats with nothing to look out of. Nothing inhumane about them.

They'll still be able to smell it but it won't be romping about on the seats leaving a mess and being smelly right under their nose.

Thank you - eloquently put
Reminds me of when I travelled with Delta Airlines to Arizona 2 yrs ago - minute amount of legroom and no view through the window (aisle seat) - I was confined in that space for 9 hours til I got to Atlanta. I found that pretty inhumane
