This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

  • Good morning everyone :)

Another damp one here and absolutely pitch black. I am sure I was intended to hibernate through these dark months, I think I want to come back as a bear!

Bit of a sleepless night here after the stress again of yesterday, I have never wanted to be gone from a place so much. I am making a countdown calendar today, so I can cross off each day and hopefully it will make me feel better.

No real plans for the weekend as DH has a college open day tomorrow, so I need to make a job list for myself for the day.

Better get going to the h***hole, so will leave with usual well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for anyone who needs or just wants them. Keep well, warm and safe and have a super day :)

Good Morning chums, not a brilliant night's sleep to be honest..my face feels and looks like a small pumpkin at the moment.and four hourly pain killers are a must.I even took some during the night as it was rather painful.I am hoping it will ease off today.I have History club this afternoon which will be fun as long as I don't smile or laugh :):)
I have a course of anti-bios to take as well as I have a low immune system after having had chemo so they should help as well.
never mind every day it will get better and its no worse than toothache I suppose.Last nights food was OK and luckily I'm not feeling too empty .I think it will be yoghurt again for breakfast, still its good for my diet :):)
Hope everyone has a good day.Now I'm off for my shower, breakfast and school run with my little guy Mikey.Bless him he was so caring last night and kept wanting to give me a hug as he hates to see his Granny feeling poorly.
    Have a good day chums

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    Morning everyone

Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x

Blue sky and broken cloud here this morning, looks like it could be a bit chilly.

DH and DS1 up and off to work stupid early.

Dinner last night was chicken goujons, savoury rice, new pots and salad for the menfolk. I had trout, rice, LO cauli/broc cheese - bit of a strange mixture but I quite enjoyed it! Xmas pud and custard was dessert - was checking the storecupboard for the ingredients to make my xmas cake and puds and found a shop bought xmas pud that we were given last year as part of a xmas hamper - so that became pud last night! I was a naughty girl and had some too, I really love xmas pud and xmas cake. Got some chicken out of the freezer to defrost - we will be having chicken curry, rice, accompaniments, poppadums etc tonight for dinner.

I was reasonably productive yesterday did the housework, and will just keep going with the washing, drying, ironing - need to crack on with the ironing today - would rather I don't get to tomorrow with still loads to do. Also spent an absolute age on the phone to energy supplier as they had written a letter to me which I had already sorted out several weeks ago and the advisor yesterday told me that when I phoned several weeks ago I'd been given the incorrect information and that was why they'd written - why do these companies tell you 1 thing 1 day and then something else another? Poor advisor I wasn't happy - I think she got the idea but it's not the first time that this has happened - it's like the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing! I wouldn't mind but I've been a long term customer and never not paid etc. I have the normal chores to do today - I will be going to town shortly, visit the bank, food shopping etc. I must organise a birthday prezzie and card for my nephew - will need to be careful what I buy as I will have to post it as they live in Cornwall. Would like to get some baking/cooking done today too, ant to try to get some more unwanted/grown out of clothes bagged up and taken to the recycling point, hopefully I can find enough to make a quid or 2!

I'm on annual leave now until 18 Nov - so will be using this time to - make xmas cake, and puds, organise, do and finish (hopefully!) the xmas shopping, get it all wrapped and labelled, order and pay for the fresh meat hamper for xmas, organise the food for xmas, deep clean as much of the house as is possible, continue sorting through DS2's clothes to see which can be taken to recycling point as no longer fit etc, organise and buy wine for next weekend, buy prezzies for guests for next weekend, write DH's report and type up and print out on pc, and try to get anything else that needs doing done! Wish me luck! Think I'm going to need it.

    Keep safe and well x

    ,Morning everybody,

Hugs to those under the weather today,Jackie, hope your mouth eases today,Miss redruby,BBird- may your ailment list soon get shorter,LW,Hilstep,Molly and anyone else not mentioned.TTFTM-good news about your colleague and hope the time passes swiftly and you can start your new job which sounds very exciting.

I feel like DH and I are like ships passing in the night, off to work early and later back due to extra travel time and having to drop DS2 off. He's so tired when he gets home he's just been falling asleep watching telly.Still it's work so we have to be thankful and is hopefully going to last over the Christmas and after period when it's usually quiet in the building trade.

I got stuck into emptying DS2s wardrobes and transferring it into DS1s old room which is now the spare-I'm sure he won't want all the cr*p but its his cr*p so he can choose what to chuck.Got the pc transferred too so that's all working. The landing is full of coats and winter stuff, cant see him going snowboarding for quite some time :rotfl:with the new baby due in 2 weeks, think that'll have to go in the loft.

I think I'll just do something simple for tea like omelettes as we still have a few eggs and my friend is calling at the farm for another tray later, she calls when she goes to see her mum and they are a lot cheaper than the sm.

Lylapup is teething and being very antsy, she's got all her new front ones now and some of the back ones are just coming through. Not seen any of the baby teeth around though-must have swallowed them :D I'll put a wet cloth in the freezer so she can chew on it,meant to be soothing for the gums :)

Not doing my Friday shop as we tried a newish Ald! last week and are going to go again tomorrow as its not as accessible or somewhere we'd normally pass-DS tends to drop me at the usual place on his way somewhere and picks me up later .
JulieGeorgiana, nice to see you and congrats on the pregnancy but shame you're so poorly with it x
OK,hope you all have a good day xx

    Good morning everyone :j

First of all I want to say thank you for all the hugs and well wishes of everyone yesterday. I know they were virtual but they were most appreciated. :A

I had a much better day mostly so I'm sat here with my SAD lamp on hoping for another good day today. I was up at 4am for a while but managed to get back off to sleep until the girls woke me up at 7am. I missed hubby going off to work though but he is only on a half day today so I will see him this afternoon.

Sorry to hear your troubles with your mouth JackieO, there is nothing more miserable as you just can't escape from the pain. I hope it resolves itself quickly.

I have several visitors coming today and also a Tesco delivery this morning so I'd better get a wriggle on and get showered and dressed. Hope everyone manages to have a great day...it is Friday after all!

Take care and as always, gentle hugs for all who would like one.
    Cheers m'dears x

Had a good day yesterday. Friend visited, and foot felt better:T I hope I can have the cast off on Monday:j
OH will be over later so he will do dinner.

Buddy the cat keeps jumping on my bed, and sticking his head through the gap in the curtains so he can watch the garden:rotfl: If he saw anything out there he'd run a mile, so he's not that clever:rotfl:
