yes i would be surprised if it happens often especially for most types of job.sensibleadvice wrote: »Reason enough to apply and you'd be surprised how often this happens.
The last part sounds like long termer fleecing the system, just doing enough rather than job seeking.
no, the last part is just ensuring you dont get sanctioned. the problem with putting set targets on people is jobseeking becomes a target fulfilling exercise. it makes you spend more time worrying have i done enough rather than was that application i did good enough. people would rather focus on doing their best to get a job than having to focus on meeting targets.0 -
what i realise in the majority of cases there will be many people who fit the criteria that apply. i realise the liklihood of them all being so hopeless that the employer would consider an unqualified person is very small. you may have a better chance in an area of very low unemployment.sensibleadvice wrote: »Perhaps, perhaps not. The point is you seem rather dismissive of what a potential employer may consider and write off any chance of success in the process.0 -
the poster said those who dont get a job very quickly are workshy. so that is all without exception.sensibleadvice wrote: »You can't make the distinction between "those who don't want work" and "all without exception"?0 -
What's feedback got to do with job applications and looking for work?
You have shipyard experience?

the full time hours are generally only applied to those recieving universal credit. its not meant for jsa claimants, it depends on how nasty your adviser is. as far as not giving access to ujm is concerned yes they do like to try and make you feel bad dont they. my response was simply its my private account. you dont need to show a print out. they can do a search for the email address you registered with and it will tell them you are registered.November5th wrote: »Well I signed on today (I sign off on Wednesday) and no discussion on the 40 hours (I just can't imagine how that would go). They were annoyed I did not give them access to my UJ account, just provided a screenshot.
When they asked why I did not give them access I said it was too insecure and you might force me to apply for very unsuitable/damaging jobs (CV Scrapers). She agreed that they would do that and we left it at stalemate.
It is now though a purely punitive system and is not about helping people into work at all, although I think they are still keen on shifting people onto self employed/working tax credits, judging by how empty this central London job centre is nowadays.0 -
not if they tell you on day one 'we wont be able to help you' and leave you to do your own thing. It's simple; you're potentially worth a lot of money to the Work Program. We’ve had to remove your signature. They may leave you to do your own thing but you can guarantee they'll stay in contact and should you get a job they will try their best to get the relevant info to put a claim in.
Depending on circumstances (disabilities, readiness for work, whatever) the last time I looked we're potentially worth £6000 - £14000 each to the WP. (or thereabouts)0 -

This is true, jobcentre should be helpful not issuing draconian sanctions left right and centre. How does that help.:footie:0 -
I was sure it was only £400 for each sign up.They may leave you to do your own thing but you can guarantee they'll stay in contact and should you get a job they will try their best to get the relevant info to put a claim in.
