Separate Renting sub-board

No
Encouraging people to give descriptive titles when starting a new thread would make it easier for people to choose which threads to read and which to ignore.
^ This, together with doubling the time that one can read a post by hovering the pointer over its title. That's too short at present.
It's probably asking too much to have ! disabled on titles, but that would also be good!!!0 -
YesThe reason I'd give for a separate renting board is that renters on this board often face quite aggressive responses from people who look at everything from the perspective of a landlord. A safe place to ask question (ie, can they do anything if the rental home is untidy as opposed to dirty) would be much appreciated. It's about attitude, I think.0

Why would these 'aggressive' posts not happen on a separate renting board?
Surely, people are what they are, whatever the board is called?
I think some landlords on here give excellent advice from a legal perspective. It might not always be what the OP wants to hear, but something that's factually accurate is of much more value than a sympathetic post that's wrong.
I agree that some posts may be unnecessarily harsh or judgemental, but that's down to the intelligence, maturity and character of the respondent, who might or might not happen to be a landlord.0 -

Yes there are some Tenants and some Landlords who tend to view the other party as vermin, with varying degrees of justification, but these things tend to be dealt with by peer pressure anyway..
Generally the community here is a good mix of tenants, owner occupiers and landlords, with some concurrently in 2 categories and some having been in all 3 at various times. It is a good mix and I think it should be left as it is.You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0 -
Renters are already sub divided enough from the rest of society without being subbed on the internet too.
The way things are going before long renters will have to ring bells when they walk anywhere and shout 'unclean' so respectably home owners can cower in their houses until they have passed.0 -
Pistonheads just split the supercar forum into separate Ferrari and Lamborghini sub-forums.
The result is not pretty0 -
-
NoNo split!
The forum only has around 50 active threads per day, so its hardly unmanagable in one place, and a lot of threads overlap.
the question in the poll is not the right question to ask.
of course information would be easier to find if it was split (but its not exactly hard at the moment), but would the information be as complete, or the discussions around subjects be as informative, no, not in my opinion anyway.0 -

If anyone is going to be made to "cower in their houses" it should be the renters.....0 -
