Hello,
We are flying from Glasgow to Orlando in a few weeks time and were wondering about the breakdown of charges on the ticket, specifically the charge for a weekend flight, As they only fly at weekends on this service, how can this be justified if we have no choice? Thanks

They are providing a service, they can charge what the like.0

You could fly with USA 'woah yea, gun ho' airlines I suppose.
I think the cost of flight breakdown is as the following:
1 TAX
2 FUEL
3 WAGES
4 Overheads
5 Profit0 -

And what do you intend to do when/if you get this breakdown of info?
Why do you need this? This is a guess but I take it you don't run your own airline so it's hardly like you can then turn round debating the figures they've given you.0 -
I suspect you are saying it is like going to buy something in a shop that is only open on a Saturday, but then has a premium on the goods because it is selling them on a Saturday.
I suppose it depends what the charge(s) is supposed to actually cover.
Maybe if they are successful this year in running the service from Glasgow they will put more flights on at other times, and then you will have more of a choice, if you want to fly Virgin that is.We all evolve - get on with it0 -
Thanks ckerrd for a Civil reply,
It was a question based on curiosity but i guess i must have posted on the childrens forum, based on the other deeply thought out answers.

I think the cost breakdown is as follows :
Napking 0.3p
Fuel per seat £25.0
Profit to Virgin £800.00
So phone Richard Branston, complain and request a really big jar of pickle with your return flight.0 -

You do have a choice - you could travel to a different airport where they fly this route midweek.0 -

You are welcome
I must admit I did consider Virgin this year but the dates didn't work out for us.
Would have liked to try them.
I could have gone to a different airport as others have suggested but I like to arrive home at my local airport if possible.
So First Choice it is this year for us, from Glasgow.
Enjoy your holiday. We all evolve - get on with it0 -
