Drive like a girl insurance

Does anyone have any experience of this insurance company? My daughter who has just passed her test has used this company over the last month or so. So far she has only managed to 'Drive like a Girl' on very short journeys, under 30 miles per hour, and only during the day. I also use the car, and despite crawling around, not breaking or accellerating fast, am unable to 'Drive like a Girl'. To me it is a big con, promising £300 cash back after 3 months if you 'Drive like a Girl' and not a 'boy racer'. It is virtually impossible, unless you go along a straight road at 25 miles an hour without breaking or accellerating.

Have you tried driving around trying to block people from merging, reversing blindly onto main roads and crashing into cars at Tescos?

    :p

Not heard anything about it, but the name company name isn't very tasteful to me.

  • you like many others have fallen for it.

drive like a girl is a company style of insure the box dint why its worded like this on their website, as it has both companies registration marks on the website also wich leads me to suspect that the insurance companies are owned by the same person(s).

sometimes it can be impossible to drive to their standards but they are the standard you agree'd to when signing up for it.

many of these type insurance schemes are set up so that eventhough you have a targeted insurance premium that seems cheap infact it can cost allot more than a regular policy if you don't regularly adhere to their standards of driving.

your penalized for emergency braking in the event of someone cutting you up, yip your punished for someone elses mistake as the box cant distinguish between harsh braking/bad driving and emergency braking avoiding collision.

they are not good value and TBH ive seen many people cancel the insurance have the box removed and pay the going rate for regular insurance.

It's no con as you put it.

My daughter was 20 when she insured her 2005 Ford Focus 1.8 tdi ghia with Drive Like A Girl and she only had 2 years ncb the quote was £570 fully comp take of the cash back they paid her means her annual premium was below £450 .

We did the usual comparison site quotes and these offered the best value for money quote by a mile.

My friend has done this and though shes pleased with how little is appears to be costing her, nothing will sway her to move to a regular insurance policy. Especially as sometimes for work she needs to travel 2 hours away from her home, and on motorways.

Not for the faint hearted ! Two of my Granddaughters (in late teens) have written off their cars recently.

I put my son on it. I also drove myself and it is impossible to get a good score unless pottering around town. Also it was suspicious how the score dropped the week before the 3 month period ended.

The only good thing is that unlike the other companies that do this, DLAG don't put your policy up. I got a quote from one company and if he drove at all between 11pm and 4am it cost £100.

He has also gone over the mileage he said he was going to do. He phoned them up to ask about it and they said not to worry and the only thing it would affect is the discount offered at renewal.
