I have made no attempt to misguide anyone, Neither have i advised anyone to use a non-qualified person! for which you are now trying to insinuate!
It's unfortunate that in these days of regulations and health and safety, and when dealing with laymen and DIYers, specific answers on guidance need to be given, too many on here DON'T or CANT do that, and as such "Heating Engineer" is not specific, as I have stated, it should have been " Gas Safe Registered RGI"
That fact that i am fully aware of the legalities and consequences of using non-experienced or qualified persons in my first and later comments, is very apparent, and therefore cannot understand just what you are trying to achieve, other than degrading my post.
What you have said was not "Specific" to what sort of person was required to carry out the job in question, and also it was your responses that seemed very much to be degrading plumbers and gasfitters in favour of Heating Engineers, unfortunately those terms in this case are of no consequence as the requirement is for a GAS SAFE RGi
There is no doubt that some have found our arguments amusing to read! and as you have no idea of my background, you cannot assume i would offer advice without having any sort of experience in the matters for which i would never do!
No doubt some find it amusing, that's because they are more interested in saving money than having the job done correctly by the correct person, BUT they will also be the ones who whinge profusely when they employ a cowboy and come back here when they have a problem
On a forum how can anyone do anything other than make assumptions, no one actually knows anyone or their experience, especially a newbie
Never judge without knowing! and remember! It's nice to be important! but more important to be nice!
That also applies to ALL, because equally you dont know my background to be able to judge me either
but just because I am blunt in stating facts doesn't mean its meant as offensive
If you want me to say i am wrong! well you will waiting a long time!!
:rotfl: But you were :rotfl: your statements were inaccurate and not specific with regard to qualifications required, these days, to carry out the work, so if you cant accept that, that's just burying your head in the sand, and possibly a bit arrogant

You are now twisting words used and becoming very annoying with your comments That are actually being offensive! as you are trying to be so clever. You have even commented on how bad some RGI are in your other posts so how can you justify degrading my offer of help! And to be quite honest your remark of a Newbie is pathetic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have tried to be fair and polite and even friendly, but had enough of your distasteful attitude:mad: 0 -
 If you are offended, then don't offend those on here by recommending the wrong people to do the job, or plumbers or gasfitters
Would you say that MY recommendation that a Gas Safe registered RGi was who was required for the job is WRONG
YES there are RGi that DON'T do the job correctly, but at least with that situation there is come back on the individual, with a cowboy with NO qualifications or doing work in the hope they don't get caught doing something illegal, TRY CATCHING THEM TO GET YOUR JOB FIXED OR MONEY BACK!
And I can assure you that in MY background I had NO TIME for cowboys, OR RGi's that were incapable, and strived to rid our industry of them at any opportunity, AND I HAVE A FEW, so if your upset then DON'T put up INCORRECT info that may cause a problem for someone
And so you don't feel lonely, my feelings on conformity are well known on here, that's why those who give bad info probably now don't do it in public, but i have no doubt they are still busy on PM's, as some people are always prepared to compromise safety for saving a few pennies, TIL SOMETHING GOES WRONG

This site offers free of speech opinions and advice to help others! It asks that any advice that is given is(Advice only) and advises anyone to check it out first! The consequences of persons using Advice given on this site is purely down to choice! There are no RULES that indicate that anyone has the right to play GOD! or for simple words! has the right to dictate otherwise! You may have your morals and experience in such matters but feel that you are becoming obsessed with your knowledge and manner, that are both distasteful and boring!0
