T-Mobile, free handset, £27.99 per month.
250 minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited data.
£27.99 * 24 = £671.76.

"No cashback payable on upgrades or the Nexus 5 £16.99 tariff"
£105 cashback!
£671.76 - £105 = £566.76p
If the cost of the nexus 5 is £300, you have just paid slightly over £11 per month for unlimited data for 2 years.
This appears even better than buying the phone upfront and getting a sim only deal.

better deal here for £16.99 per month for 24 months. Small data allowance though, but it could be considered as getting an interest free loan for the phone, with 500 minutes, unlim. texts and 250mb thrown in.0 -
Its vastly overpriced for a contract and a phone .0

That deal works out £6 or so less per month.
If you use more than 250mb of data it will cost you more than that extra

What do you mean? Nexus 5 is amazing price handset. Latest tech, almost half the price of iphone. And the equiv of £11 a month for unlim data is pretty good too.0 -

I dont understand how this could be considered an "interest free loan for the phone...." - the total cost over 24 months is £407.76, which is over £100 more than buying the 16gb version of the phone outright. The Daily Mail

Sorry i am of the opinion that many smartphones and the amount many spend on airtime is vastly overpriced and rather than a tool its a bit of bling .
That is an opinion i did not have at the start of the smartphone rollout i must admit .

Can you find 500 minutes/unlimited texts/250mb of data each month for a total of less than £100 over the course of 24 months then?
Plus P4U via TCB are currently £105.0 -

If you are prepared to sign your mobile life away for the next 2 years then surely you would expect to get some incentive? And there probably ARE SIM deals that give you more than that for £5/mth if you are prepared to commit for 12 months and taking into account cashback etc - MSE has a T Mobile offer at present in its email offering. 24 months is a heck of a long time to commit yourself to a mobile plan for. And 250mb of data on a phone like the Nexus 5 is cutting it very fine.0 -
I agree, it won't be for everyone, but taking TCB into consideration, the price works out at the same rate as buying the phone from Google, but with the allowances thrown in. If you were going to buy the phone outright from Google in the first place, then this (to me) seems like an easy way to keep your cash in the bank and pay in installments and get use of the allowances as well.0

Signing a deal now locking yourself into a 2 year deal on a 3G contract seems a little foolhardy to me.====0
