Beware of web based 'Free' Internet SMS services
After O2 started charging me for SMSs I've been looking round for free internet based SMSs on Google and up popped this 'Free' SMS service which asks the recipient to cough up £5 to see the message, but there is no indication of this on the site! Trouble is they might think it important. I guess providing they mention the charge to the recipient it is legal to try it on?
I will stick with this old one which seems to work most of the time

The exorbitant cost to read the message is just a little bonus for the site.
Their real purpose is to hoover up email addresses to sell on to spammers.0 -
cbfsms doesn't send ur own number, big drawback0

The main problem is that it's not going to make you popular with the recipient. I tried sending it to my own phone number first in case of something like this, but it refused.
Can't find the specific OFCOM page to complain, only FAQs, probably a waste of time anyway.0 -
Use their paid service, FishText, if you want them to see your number.0

CBFSM down twice today. Th site doesn't even save your message to send later. Rather it suggests you try again several minutes later. It may be free, but it comes with pop up ads so I expect better. Would rather pay than be mucked about.0
